If we agree that (1) pilots deserve good retirement savings, and (2) the pension was exchanged for PS+DC (irrespective of whether or not that was a good value), senior pilots traded future pensions for future PS+DC as well as their own in the moment.
What the company did before BK, the two pay cuts, and to you during BK(the pension) was not right, imho. The pilot group was decimated, and the courts went right along. That said, I was only responding to the point Timbo made about PS. Why that wasn’t a condition of the agreement was beyond me. Would have lessened the losses all of you suffered.

Because then you have an even more divided pilot group with 2 different “retirement systems”. Good luck during section 6 with that. Old system pilots win the negotiations until new system pilots become the majority and then take over the negotiating priorities. Then you have 2 groups super ****ed at each other and management wins. If you think the pilot group is divided now, it would get really ugly like that.

Be sure to tell your ALPA rep that when they start trading your profit sharing away!

I meant to quote and respond to Timbo, oops. As to your post, I was referring to the group that lost a multi million dollar retirement. Don’t know how you can be upset at a group that is only getting back a portion of what they lost. For info only, I was hired in 2007 and wasn’t here for bankruptcy. Of course I love the PS, but would have understood if it never made it to me.

Well, clearly there's a reason labor unions have lost their bargaining power over the decades. Would love to hear your views on why that is.
