Question Living in BOS: DAL or B6

For a hypothetical person with a family who has to live in BOS and has two job offers, which would you pick? How commutable is DAL with the new contract? Would driving to work at B6 beat commuting to NYC or ATL at DAL to make more money and enjoy arguably better work rules and a better contract across the board?

I know the two airlines are kind of in different classes, but does having to live in BOS change the conversation at all?

How about that decades-old rumor of DAL opening a BOS pilot base?

Definitely Delta. With 18 hour callout, and the ability to drive in case the wx sucks, it seems like a little to no-brainer.

It’s highly likely Delta will open a BOS base in the fall. If not this year than next.

My buddies who could have come to Delta but stayed at JetBlue regret it. You're leaving a hell of a lot of money on the table if you stay, and your seniority will rise so fast in NYC, you'll hardly realize you started over. Do it.

He’s not at JBLU. He has offers from both.

This has been a rumor since half the seniority list was hired.

I'm betting they keep foot dragging on opening BOS as a base. It will rob too much from NYC and ramp congestion at the Taj Mullin is already a huge issue. They're already flying empty jets to nearby cities at night because of nowhere to park them at Logan.

What they really need to do is get rid of the RJs and upgauge everything to mainline, then continue to operate it virtually as an O and D hub.
