And they are also acting like you just jump into an airline job at year 2 ER pay. Forgetting it took many people 15-20 years of training/instructing and regional slogging to even sniff these jobs. But yeah, all those people saving $7,500 a month….

KIcking the Roth can is one of my favorite retirement/estate planning techniques.

No, but any captain should be able to save 7500 per month total (including company PS contributions).

We have got roughly 2900 pilots under 35. So my assertion that .7% compounded return difference over 30 years at $7500/month savings being an almost $1.3 million difference isn’t off the wall. Many of those pilots are captains or have the ability to be if they prioritized that. Even if they started at 30 vs. 25 that’s a lot of people capable of saving that amount a month.

Little league in 1976 had a $5 registration fee and they provided the equipment. That’s about $30 today. Even if you are a CPI denier, which is fine, let’s quadruple it and call it $120 today.

You guys paying more than that?

And you were still able to put away $90K a year in retirement savings on 2nd year ER pay? You should write a book!

haha…. That’s not even close today. North side
of Atlanta here. Church-league soccer is $250. The “cheapest/least competitive” travel soccer for a 9-yo is $2,200… not including any travel fees/hotels + $300-500 uniform/equipment purchases.

Kid sports have become a big business. By the way… you have any of those 2.5% mortgages left lying around?
