Feats of strength.. 2010 I ate an entire 3 gallon tub of Moose Tracks Ice Cream.. After flying a "double triple cycle" (2 flights on 3 deck cycles each, so about 9-10 hours flying a bad handling turboprop)

After that the airing of greivances began. (I had just been passed over for promotion, and had been congratulated by the air wing commander on said promotion, since he assumed I'd make it)

What does DA have to do with any of this stuff that anybody else doesn’t?

As an aside, I personally DGAF about medical freedom one bit, especially compared to pay, QOL, scope, etc. But I don’t disparage anyone who does have that as a priority.

As somebody just flying the line and not heavily involved at the time, this "certainty" of which you speak was anything but. My perception was how Fish described it.

United had just rolled out their vaccine mandate, to which ALPA responded with silence/concurrence (I can't remember which). Shortly thereafter, the Southwest CEO announced its mandate. The next few days Southwest canceled thousands of flights due to "ATC" and "weather." No other airline, or air line, was similarly affected. Within a week, Southwest's CEO rescinded the mandate.

It was only after this failed SWA mandate that DAL announced its voluntary vaccine policy. Coincidence? Maybe. However, if a voluntary informed consent policy was always the case at Delta, they did a fabulous job of withholding that information.

Edit: I believe there are UAL pilots that were fired for not taking the vax that still are not back on property.

I can't tell you what to believe, and I can't speak for any other airline, nor Delta management responsibilities to their shareholders. I have little doubt that Delta would have loved us to allow for the mandate of vaccines. Never was going to happen. I know that conflicts with FF conspiracies, and I think that's the very type of special interest that is damaging to unity.

The medical freedom paragraph was a huge leap at the time. Still falls way short in actual protections needed.

Freedom flyers is not a fringe group, just not as vocal as it once was, and it’s still fighting. And it’s not just a DAL group.

Conservative Christian values are a good thing. If you are embarrassed by your religion, maybe find a new place to worship. Not religious? You don’t know what you’re missing.

Dont like notes wishing you well on religious holidays? Delete it and move on. Could be worse, it could be a cause rubbed in your face by corporate flags, pins, colors, PAs …. Want it out of the work place? Then it’s all or nothing.

How much $$ is enough? I bid min credit and don’t green slip. Have never gotten holiday pay but appreciate those who work those days so I can be home with my family. Maybe when I’m an empty nester I’ll work some of those days, but not now.

QOL over money. Job protections over money. Throw out sick leave and start over. Rotation construction needs more left/right lateral limits. Improve commuting. More vaca and vaca weeks available to bid. Put an end to companies current short call BS.

Yeah I kind of went of on a tangent, but I voted for those I think most closely align with the direction I’d like to see union go.

And it’s easy to sit online and throw darts from the cheap seats. I’m not running. I don’t volunteer for ALPA. I do t want to do either of those things, so I appreciate those that do.

Life is too short to come on here and throw hate and insults, but watch, here it comes…

God bless and have a blessed day.
Medical freedom is all well and good and should be a thing. But his inability to give straight answers about 23m7 while deflecting responsibility for a policy that the pilot group was extremely unhappy with, him getting fired from committee for abusing FPL, and his orchestration of the childish news paper stunt are just a few of many things that show me he isn’t what we really need. He can use the freedom fliers as a special interest group to push policy if he wants. But his other major actions as a union rep/committee person are concerning to say the least.
And not throwing insults, just calling it like I see it.

Except their pursuit of “medical freedoms” is based on their religious views. If your medical issue doesn’t fit in that box then, too bad so sad. And good luck with them if you end up having a mental health issue because that type of stuff is made up fake news in DA’s opinion.

Your naivety is adorbs. Bless your heart.

My daughter won't be going to college in several states because of thier health care laws. I'm all for medical choice, maybe DA is really an ally? ~eyeroll emoji~
