As will all the NYC7ERAs to me.

I'm curious how many of those MSP220 positions will be transfers from SLC/SEA without backfills (should we expect to see them shrink)?

Why would they shrink those bases?

FWIW, the Nov bid was probably the NB A 'floor', and each of these next couple of bids will get progressively slightly junior as we go. Probably 2-3 decent-sized bids, maybe more if we keep hiring deeper into the spring. I'm going with 13,000 for systemwide NB A, just for fun, maybe a little senior than that.

For anyone bidding, always remember you can only get awarded what you bid for! BWYWWWYB. Even if you get it as the plug on this bid, you will probably get some folks junior to you on the following bids. Probably...

Who wants to be the plug on a narrowbody? I wouldn’t even consider going sub 60 percent. Sub 50 percent I’m thinking about it and sub 40 percent I’m bidding.

75% on 320A was OK as a commuter. Avoid RES coverage awards 10 months out of the year, but this was when 2 maybe 3 SCs was normal.

What no waiting for weekends off?

I personally waited for 80% (and it was fine), so I wouldn't want to be the plug either. But I guarantee there is someone on here does.

Last spring when I asked one of the instructors why they had so many SLC 220s in the new hire drops he mentioned they were expecting to open MSP - presumably by creating a pool of trained pilots for when it opens. So wondering how much of the MSP flying will be additional flying vs moving it from SLC.

I imagine maybe a third to half will be base transfers from NYC, SEA and SLC and the other will be MSP locals or short commuters that have been waiting on some seniority and not commuting.

Because despite my very limited PWA knowledge and only having flown a single 1day greenslip all year, I'll gross over 400k this year.

I usually hold a line and get what I want (I only ask for no early morning reports). I can swap most crappy trips and I'm fine flying my line making more than I did as an FO always chasing the ARCOS dragon. Just because I could get Gucci greenslips does it mean I want to pause life at home to go fly them.

I hardly ever need specific weekends off so the other pros of being a junior A outweigh the cons....FOR ME. (If that doesn't work for you, no problem to each their own).

*Yes, I do like to complain sometimes. That's sport b;tching amongst pilots. On the grand scheme of things I'm very happy to sit where I'm sitting now. Perspective and all that
