Can we get the day our schedules have to come out moved up in this contract? Every other airline seems to get theirs days prior to us.

Also, why can't FO schedules come out the same day as captains? I understand they have to run captain schedules first so they can process FO bid avoids.. but can't they do this in the same day?

I was just thinking about this today. Next month bids can come out by the end of the current month. Bid window can open on the 1st, close by the 5th and we could have our schedules easily by the 10th.

They can open the 1st, close the 7th and be done by the 8th with wiggle room until the 9th if they need.

This. Most airlines get same day results. I'd even accept next day.

It seems like whoever processes our bids doesn't work weekends and gets Columbus day off. It's little things like this that would cost Delta very little and increase moral amongst the pilot group. But instead they just keep creating more disgruntled pilots who are less likely to go above and beyond.

Agreed…like leaving trips in OT and never run the ladder to then just go IA.

While I would love for them to come out earlier, I disagree that releasing them one more day early would have any morale benefit. They already come out several days prior to the deadline and here we are upset that it's not early enough. At my old airline, they'd come out 1 hour prior to the deadline.

To the other poster who suggested a much earlier timeline in general, the union already said the company was struggling to meet the deadline to have the bid packets available to them to review. I would imagine moving it up substantially earlier than current would be a tall ask, especially because it would require discussions with network

Yep. Trying to figure out vacation and kid logistics for us picking up my neice, seeing if my wife is going solo or I'm going, if we need dog boarding, etc..
Her dad is at UAL
He has had his NOV schedule since Friday. I might have mine by Friday. (yea, I know they usually beat the 17th COB deadline, but can't count on it)

This is a constant refrain, but it doesn’t match reality. We've had our schedules released on a weekend multiple times this year. I think they were released on a Sunday last month. I'm with you that it would be great to get them earlier, but like Cbreezy said, getting the company to finish bid packets earlier is likely a tall ask. It's certainly not worth wasting capital on during contract talks. We could probably get them same day, though we may not like the results. If anything, knock a day or two off our bid window. This isn't the days of 6+ day trips with zero access to the internet, do we really need 7 days to bid?

Can anyone remember a time they published them that late? I'm sure it's happened, but I can't remember a time we've gotten them that late. I'd guess I could count on one hand, the number of instances that's happened. Agreed that this is too late though.

New phone, so can't go back to all my ALPA text alerts, but it seems like every couple months there are a couple categories that have to re run.

But seriously, due by 1800 on the 11th, the computer could have them done and sent to ALPA for checking by 1900.

Beef, Chicken and Fish have a regular option and a light choice option. Cheese cake vs. fruit salad. Bread roll vs. a salad. You get it.

On legs where FC get to choose their meals, we get access to that menu too. On one of my legs, this is 7 additional options available to me. 21 total options to choose from.

FC options are Beef Melt Sandwich, Cheese Plates, Houston Signature Dish (flight originates from IAH), and some other options like past and salad.

If you get something you didn’t order, missing food items from the meal, or food isn’t edible. You get to buy a meal somewhere and expense it.
