This is the EXACT type of trip I did day in day out in my decade at the regionals. I never want to smell a trip like that ever again. That is the definition of the grind. I was so burnt out by the end of it I was in a horrible mood and dreaded going into every single trip. I'm not saying your wrong to like what you like but I want to advise lurkers to choose wisely. I have been there done that.

I want the easiest lowest block trips I can get as long as it doesn't significantly impact my total days off. I like more money for less work. That's my goal in life. Easy trips are good for my body and mind.
I also spent nearly a decade at the regionals. It’s what reinforced in me that this is just a job. I come here and do this so I can maximize my time at home doing the things I really enjoy doing. I want to work efficient, high credit trips when I’m at work so I can spend my ideally increased time at home doing what I want to do.

I hear what you’re saying but I also want to enjoy the places I’m at sometimes and explore areas, restaurants, get outside and go for a hike, etc. Also coming from a regional I hope it’s better here than what regional you came from and not “just a job and work”. You’re also allowed to enjoy your time at “work” and not just be a miserable slam clicker counting the seconds til you’re at home again. Just a thought.

Agreed. I've had the crappy job where I sit around trying to enjoy my Sunday but have that lingering thought in the back of my head saying "ugh, this week is gonna suck". Being a legacy airline pilot is pretty chill. Managing work/life balance is as easy as juggling with 2 balls.

I absolutely love the fact that I don't dread going to work anymore. Not hating the thought of going to work is in and of itself QOL. The L in QOL is Life, as in the entirety of your existence both at work and home. Ive known people who worked jobs they hated just because of the money. It always eventually affects your home life.

Being miserable at work for 13 days instead of reasonably enjoying 14 isn’t worth the one additional good day at home. But. Your life may be different.

What I’m saying is I enjoy my time at home and mostly enjoy my time at work and not just constantly thinking man I wish I was at home and not seeing new places and flying this advanced plane but that’s just me. You can live your life how you want and have whatever attitude outlook you like but I try to make the most of what I’m doing and where I am.

I don't know what the preponderance of NB trips look like. Seems to me from the what the NB folks post here on APC that the trips are not all too bad. I would think the majority of pilots in the NB world are not in favor of your "I go to work to work therefore work me on a 21 hour 3 day". That's a miserable schedule. I'm certain there are high credit trips in your bid pack you can bid for and fly (probably because most people don't want them).

This job is about maximizing money for minimum amount of work and that's what should be driving our contracts. That's QOL.

As a loyal member of slam clickers anonymous, this ain't the JOB it used to be. Family, friends, hobbies etc. have a much higher priority. Long gone are the party with friends you didn't know 10 hours ago days. The younger generation has their app meetups and the older generation has their naps. The middle has their hiking shoes and uber on standby.

Allows people to use their massive availability to soak up GS while you work for single pay. Pretty simple.
