for some, if it’s a one day trip they don’t want to use their first QS on that. They will wait for a multi day trip. But an IA, that does not go against your QS or GS counter, so hey-why not? Or they maybe have a qualifier of multi day trips only, so phones aren’t ringing for that.

The behavior going forward will be interesting to watch. There certainly have been some “cobra effect” going on over the last few years. The company is going to pay 3x’s for either quick slips or IAs so I am not sure they care how it goes out.

IA go out to everyone. QS only go out to people who have slips in. I'd bet it's less than 20% of the list

Because they don’t know what a QS is.

Had a bud who talked to the scheduling guys. He said that the IAs that have gone out are
because they passed through the QS step with no takers.

Having already seen QS#2 go out, and now hearing that, it does make it seem plausible that at least in a few instances a pilot over the past few months could get a decently high number of IAs without deal making.

Yesterday I watched two trips that reported during my SC period go out. One as GS about 12 hours prior to report. Another as QS about 3 hours prior. OK. I'll sit home for SCC.

Must be due to all the PB day "churn"?

This. I'm not burning G#1 or Q#1 on a 1 day trip, that's lost money later in almost all occasions unless it's the end of the month. Ideally, our leveling system would count days, not instances of premium, so we don't have to play this game. It was in the contract survey.

Exactly. And then they want to put blame on the pilot group, when the vast majority is self-inflicted by the company though lack of resources or competence. Not buying what they are selling.

100%. But so help me if I have to explain to another captain what a QS is… 😆

A few good responses, so a few to add: maybe they did have a QS in but the QS call came while they were in the pool and they missed the 12 minute window. Then the IA call came when they grabbed a towel.

Or, they're junior and don't want QS nuisance calls, but IA comes after the filter of QS and now they've got a chance.

Lots of reasons, some of which probably just come down to timing because of the short QS window.
