That’s true of every airport food vendor and most fast food places outside the airport. You are interrupting their scrolling time. Mc Donald’s employees won’t even speak to customers anymore. They just point to the kiosk no matter the query. I haven’t frequented them in years other than the drive through window for coffee and a quick breakfast. Going inside was a cultural shock from what I remember from college.

Haven't been to LGA in years, do they still have the $1 crew coffee place?
SLC has a local ‘law/regulation that the airport food has to be the same price as outside the airport. Much more reasonable, and there are some reasonably good options.

But what I miss the most was the buffet tables in LGA. It was fresh, always on rotation so you didn't get tired of it, genuinely delicious, healthy options, and at 30% off fairly priced. The rest of my life I will argue that was the best airport food situation of all time.

(They did a similar thing in MSP and that one was crap. Everything was either empty or stale and old)
I have to agree. This was a wonderful option that I wish they would bring back, but I dont think we'll ever see again.

Food was cheap but I don’t remember it being good at all. JFK right now is terrible. What is taking so long with the Eataly?

The inspiration for "Ratatouille."

Mi Casa Cantina at JFK takes this to a whole new level. Not only are the burritos not made to order but you can't even see them being made behind the metal barrier.

I had a fantastic sour cream burrito with a hint of rice and chicken the other day. It was my first and will be my last time there. Wonderful use of $25.

The meta these days is on high end sit down restaurants, luxury retail, and 4-7 Starbucks per terminal. Food courts with seating are a thing of the past. I would love to eavesdrop on the conversations that decide these things and what their reasonings are. Obviously it has something to do with money but how?

However I'm still glad we don't have the food courts of the 90s and 2000s. Back then an airport food court was indistinguishable from your local mall food court. Sbaro, Auntie Anne's, Fast Chinese, Burger King, and maybe a Subway.
