A short history of outsourcing at Delta:
1. Post 9/11, call centers were moved to India. When RA took over, call centers were moved back to the US in under 2 years.
2. CEO's: The last CEO who was brought in with zero experience running an airline was L. Mullin (1997-2004).
Extremely non-definitive and cherry-picking to the max.
I suppose outsourcing some things might make sense. Above my pay grade.

He was so good him and Michelle and Fred deserved that $50 mil to retain them here less than a year. Also PS first class for life.(and had the gall to contest that in BK) He was a brown stain on our history. Wish we had more Richard Anderson’s.

The likely appeal of the new CIO to the board is her ability to slash IT costs.
Further cutting the IT budget and increasing IT outsourcing (which Delta has attempted before) doesn’t sound like a winning combination, IMHO.
