There's an interesting Flight Ops "Approach," podcast about fleet plans.
It looks the 787's will fit size-wise between the A350-900 and -1000, but will not have the range. It will be used in thicker hub-to-"hub" markets in Europe/SA, allowing the 330-900's to fly thinner routes and explore new markets (what the ER does now.)
Also, they're going to try DPS seating as FC on the new 321-neo's rather than have the aircraft grounded waiting on D1 suites.

Sure sounded like they're backtracking on no ER across the pond after '24, '25, '26..., or finally admitting what I always thought they meant: no ER across the pond ^from ATL^ after '24, '25, '26 ...

It does and Im very familiar with it as its on the 330. It’s the Collins MiQ seat which is just a standard recliner. The new first class seat on the 321neo and some 738s has a fixed shell around the seat and privacy wings.

This was true initially, I believe they replaced the padding in the cushions, not the entire seat itself and that solved the problem.

And the headrest wings and mini-center divider make it difficult to get up from a window seat to use the restroom if you are not young, thin, and nimble, especially if the seat in front of you is reclined and/or the passenger in the aisle seat is sleeping. I guess they may appeal to some, including the executives who picked them out, but like the Business Class mini-cubicles (coffins?) on American's new 321XLR's, they will not appeal to anyone prone to claustrophobia. https://onemileatatime.com/insights/...usiness-class/

Honestly the fancy new DLOne suites have similar issues, very hard and too upright (think wooden 50s school chair vibes) when in t/o and landing full up. While they look very nice, it seems obvious that whoever approved them has never flown longhaul on F/J or even done a cursory look at our competitors. AAs J seats are more comfortable, and UA and BA (new suites) have a significantly more comfortable seat in J: somewhat pre-reclined in upright and cloth with more give and cushion vs the hard fake leather.
