Necessary to make them a proffer? No.

No. If you don’t use auto accept you’ll always get the initial offer call, plus the lock in call if the award actually reaches you. Auto accept skips the initial offer call and you’ll only get called if and when the award is actually yours. Either way it’s a proffer.

Don’t know but it is utterly disgusting. The only times you REALLY need to contact someone is during IROP when your trip blows up. I was not in position for a trip and had nobody to tell. On hold for hours over the course of the last few days to never even be able to talk to anybody. Even crew assist is worthless somehow. You try to open a chat and it says “we’re connecting you” for hours. I’m totally embarrassed. My old regional handled all of this better.

Crews are willing and able to fly the trips but it’s almost impossible when you get the award 30 minutes before departure. If you even ever get notified.

Our scheduling department has pretty much collapsed. I’d like to eliminate some things in section 23 and revert back to past practices. Get rid of SS, QS, auto accept, 2 day trip coverage, pre-assigned rest, IA’s, and modify 23.M.7 so all senior pilots to awarded pilot gets paid and awarded pilot counts as GS,

This is what I want in next contract. A coverage ladder that is never violated and only one counter for premium flying. I’m in mid 20th percentile in my category and as a commuter can’t get anything. Almost all SS go senior to me.

I'm an in base 75% ER guy, but am usually top 1/3 of those on RES.

I'm prob going to break RES guarantee for the first time post COVID because even thought I'm RAW group 3 and even if I was 1 or 2, I'd still be senior to the others, but because of preposted rest I've been getting hammered this month.

5 day 26 hour trip.
Late enough in day (1730 report) that 1st day guys are usable.

6 junior to me, 30/168 legal. Not a special qual trip. No low time FOs. But they have preposted rest on what would be day 5 (trip finishes with a LIS-JFK day) they are RAW 1 or 2.

Senior, also in RAW 3 , get assigned trip. call CS asking for explanation. "Preposted rest is treated like a golden X day"
"but you've canceled my preposted rest to assign me a 2 day off of SC"
"if there are no legal reserve we will drop a preposted rest if you are otherwise legal"

So basically preposted rest is only sacrosanct until they need it dropped. Kind if like the safety seats Nonrevs can't use but are magically unnecessary if we can sell the seats.

Earlier in the month. We're all RAW 1. 4 of us on SC for a 1400 report. (2 1200-1800, 1 1000-1600, 1 1400-2000)
3 day trip. I'm 5 day. The 2 1200 guys are 3 day. But preposted rest. I'm the most senior. I get assigned it.

They basically are using preposted rest as a "rules for thee, not for me" where its a "hard day off" until they need you.

I had been a serial senior reserve bidder for a long time. This year I’ve been bidding a line and see no timeframe for when I will try reserve again.

I’d also like to see long call back to 12 hours. There’s way to many variables in scheduling. It’s become an unpredictable cluster. It’s not good for anyone. Look at today. My category has about 30 uncovered trips, some reporting in 30 minutes.

Long call going back to 12 sounds like a concession to me.

When 18hr call out started in 2024, we didn’t had these issues. The fix is simple…hire more pilots, stop screwing around with preposted rest and SC assignments at 2300 day 1 so you can be in position. It’s easier to give 4am SC day 2 and have the pilot available for the morning crap.
