I imagine "both parties literally agreed to this in the contract" would be an iron clad defense.

Pretty sure last decade it was the company's idea to introduce single day PB washing, back when they needed WB pilots to liquidate their vacation in lieu of huge shortfalls for summer. Can anyone confirm or paste the exact comm if you still have it?

Does heather know about this?

Apparently not. IIRC her words were: “some of you wash PB days. Wash, that’s a racketeering term by the way. I see some of you smiling, you know you do it, don’t even try to deny it. But using a single PB day to drop a four day trip, that was not ever the intent. That was never what they were designed for. We hate that it’s punitive on everybody but it needed to change.”

At least she dropped RG’s facade of “churn.”

How about 1 PB dropping a 1-day-trip? Or, 1 PB dropping 1 reserve day? Were they designed for that?

She realizes to use 1 PB day to drop a 4-day trip requires all four days to have + coverage in order to drop it, right? It's not about staffing. They just like PB days paying 4:35 max. Be honest.

I can't recall when it started, but I know at one point, you could only do the 1 PB day thing, when they had converted to supp days, which was Jan-Mar the year after your earned the PB days. In the year you earned them, if you dropped a 3 day, and had 3 PB days, it used all 3 PB days. Then suddenly they started letting us drop them one at a time. I want to say this happened in the late teens/early 20s, and I thought I heard it was the company's decision to allow it. So ya, she may want to go check the notes on that one.

I suspected that with this recent PB day stunt, they were trying to take it back to the days of 3 PB in the bank meant you used them all if you dropped a 3 day trip.

The change to allow 1 PB day at a time was a massive cost increase that I don't think they really thought through, especially in the 350, where 3 PB days have gone from costing 28 hours to 42 hours. But they also didn't really think through making them all go to vacation as now they probably have a massive staffing issues in some categories. There are probably a lot of people than are now nearly useless to them for a large portion of the year.

If there were never intended to be used that way, they would have never reprogrammed PCS to explicitly allow it.

Bingo. You used to have to do it via a “smart sheet”, but it was too cumbersome for them to process(and is), so they reprogrammed iCrew to be able to do it automatically. The Gall of HT to claim otherwise…

How the board hasn’t fired her (and RG) for all this is beyond me. 23Mil a month??? I guess that $200M/year figure wasn’t far off after all. THAT was the difference between the “century” 2025 year failing to exceed 2024. No wonder Ed is pizzed, no wonder we’re getting told it’s all our fault…. They are scrambling to save their jobs!

I also find it hilarious they suddenly “realize” they need to hire 200/month indefinitely. Total mismanagement to be that far off (among other failures). Way to bang the pendulum across the clock case - so hard they literally are cracking the clock case…

Can someone explain to me their personal reasoning for going to something like Velvet 360?

They steal money, abrogate seniority, pit other employee groups against us and violate the contract at will...

If you want to send a clear message, don't go, don't engage, don't respond to surveys, don't show up to base visits, none of it. Have self respect, that means stop entertaining antisocials. Show apathy until it is no longer warranted, it is really that simple.

CE Woolman, Bethune, Kelleher and Anderson were worth your time, our leadership and modern executive teams for that matter are NONE of that.

Fly the jet, go home. Enjoy family, close friends, hobbies and be thankful you aren't a M-F drone making 1/10th the money. You get one life, live it!
