So it went as QS at 0044. Phone never rang. Have blanket QS in, no 30/168 issues. On X days for rest of month so not causing a 30/168 issue either.

It appears that scheduling still manually sets the batch size for QS. So it seems like there could be times that it doesn’t actually blast the entire category.

so they are slowing down the process designed specifically to accelerate coverage…. Geniuses.

Foul: once they pick the domicile for the 0xxx rotation they should have to keep it there- quit fishing the different bases for the sucker who will fly your short notice trip as a ws, only to send it out as qs at 0200.

its time to put out the gumpster fire.
Welp... somebody is going to collect. OBWS farmers at the moment. Soon it will be IBWS farmers and QS as the try to get back to 3x pay instead of 4x. The OBWS crowds are much larger and take longer to run.

I'm aware of how to not get woken up....just pointing out to the person I quoted that you don't have to have a slip in, but the company can and will attempt to call you during your WOCL.

The company is not paying 4X to cover trips. The only time the company pays 4X is if the invoke 23m7 and skip PAST QS to something else (generally IA). A standard 23m7 pays single pay to whoever was skipped (regardless of what step was skipped) and double pay to the QS pilot who flies the trip. Skipping QS pays single pay to both the originally skipped pilot and the skipped QS pilot, and double pay to the operating pilot. While lots of IAs have still been going out, at least in my category, each time it has been because QS was run but there were not takers. In that case QS was not skipped so the IA does not required 4X pay.

I’ve been seeing IAs and no QS call when checking my call log in the AM after a good night sleep with my ringer off. YMMV They better be paying out 4x.

My guess is they pay the skipped pilot when they get called out on it or if the scheduler is honest just like it has always been.
