So to be clear, the dinner/beer hierarchy of gratitude ....
International Long-Haul:
1) Senior CA on a GS: Buys all dinners and beers (possibly for FA's too.)
2) Junior CA on a GS: Buys dinners and beers (possibly for FA's too.)
3) Senior FO on a GS: Buys beers.
4) Junior FO on a GS: Buys beers.
Domestic:
1) CA on a GS: Buys all dinners and beers.
2) FO on a GS: Buys beers.
In cases of no premium pay:
1) LCP (if installed) buys beers.
2) CA buys beers.
3) CA buys beers and dinner for new-hires (unless they don't tip the van driver.)
International Long-Haul:

You forgot
Domestic:
FA's show any sign of actually wanting to go out with pilots, CA immediately backs out in fear of being expected to buy the first round....FO buys first round.
Always end up being my favorite outings!

In fairness, I have witnessed some FAs take serious advantage of this situation. It's like when you offer to run into the terminal to buy coffee and they give you a 15 word order for a $12 drink. Listen, I said coffee, not a diabetes bomb, you want that black or cream and sugar.

This needs to be put in the contract and added to any upcoming TA.

I flew a TLV trip once where both Captains and both FO’s were on greenslips. The other CA did not order a meal just drinks and ate the huge appetizer spread the restaurant put out. When the bill came told the flight attendants to put away their money. 3 of us covered everything. The other CA paid for his drinks only. Had a HNL layover once where the CA was on a GS and found a 100 dollar bill exiting the hotel. Sunset drink tab was 86 bucks. He paid for his two beers only. He got ditched for dinner!

Rampers make far less than we do. Do you tip them for correctly loading your airplane so it doesn't turn into a smoking hole at the end of the runway? Why not? Shouldn't you be sharing your wealth with them to avoid being stingy?
