You're killing us. Do you know how many guys have gone through a 6 pack today? This is as bad as waiting for the lines to come out wondering if your little goof up way down your bid will screw you and then finding out it did.

By the way, a person may not necessarily be able to run on scope alone... but it doesn't stop a person from voting on scope alone.

Living on the coast? If so how is the real estate moving on the intercoastal?

I'm 10 miles south of launch pad 39-A It's a buyer's market here now, but you have to remember that the top was ridiculous. Now... you can get canal front... or even riverfront for somewhere in the $300,000 range. (That was a month or so ago) I am currently looking for a renatl property, and my realtor told me it could be done on the canal for somewhere around 200. However... they currently won't cash flow, so I'm not sure if I will pull the trigger on it or not. Anyway... long winded answer to your question with a tangent. hope it helps. T minus 2 hours... weather is not so great though

Got to run, time to go meet the crew for dinner!
Was the crew still there or did they ditch you?

I also propose a question to you. Since the contract opener is not until late 2011, you cannot run on the issues like min day credit for all events etc. What would you run on?

I would love to run on scope, pay and work rules, but that is a few years off. Now is a time for Scope, top and bottom, fixing the loop holes in PBS like guys with a check ride getting one less day off while on reserve, making it so they separate the reserve from the block holders on the unstacking rule, (Currently a top reserve bidder can get unstacked if he is less than the 60th%, working on better coverages for our insurance, (Medico for prescriptions sucks), a uniform payroll deduction, trip credit for redeyes. That is just a few off the top of my head.
I agree with you. I think that number one is scope (not only as it pertains to the junior and DCI interests but the ever increasing JV's and ensuring that we as Delta pilots are protected on both narrow body and wide body flying levels). All of the things you mention above, plus:
ability to move (slide) vacation days or set vacation to any days in the month (no cost item to the company other than including the programing in the computer bidding software), recovery flying rules (not sure on the exacts for the south side but suffice to say the north time available stinks when a trip is taken from you and it is my understanding that is the same for the south). Unfortunately, I don't know the new contract at all since I haven't had time to sit down and read it (soon to change now that I am done with school as of tonight or until I decide to take the final step) therefore, I am not in a position to answer what issues I would run on. I can guarantee you that I will be up to speed as elections come up in council 1 (not for a while).

I do believe you about the MEC having our best interests at heart and I am sure that they really only want the best for everyone, they really do. I just am not impressed with the level of communications and when communication from the leadership is lacking, that is when the masses get restless.

I will say that the communication that is put out from the committee level is absolutely outstanding (i.e. "When scheduling calls", etc).

Gotta go...

Had a great dinner.

I too have a great seat for this launch. I sure hope it goes.

Yes, our committee members are amazing! We have a ton of dedicated individuals working on our behalf.
I agree that if we had the communication that we desire, with an explanation of the motives behind many of the decisions, the vast majority would agree with them.

That does not mean we do not need improvement. We do. Like I stated and you stated, there are many things that can and should be fixed. IMHO section 6 does not need to happen to get these changes.
