Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Its Monday morning and I was thinking --
Elizabeth Hurley does not get enough credit for the contributions she has made to our society.
She deserves more recognition.

Check, that's a good point.
But remember, just like the beer commercials say, a trophy wife will grow old and gray, but a trophy bass (mounted), will stay forever young.
But what a trophy wife she is... wait... what the hell is wrong with some men?

In that case, maybe it wasn't entirely his fault. I could get addicted:
You bet, a NO vote will show us quickly it was a wrong choice. You still have time to change your vote ACL, and I bet you will. THINK ABOUT IT. 200 RJs leaving leaves a gap, and that gap will be filled by larger RJs, and then 717s will top those 76 seaters, and we will own mid range regional routes again. Where do you think 88 717s will go? IMAGINE it.
Contrary to what you may think. I waited a month and tired to find a way to vote "yes" for this deal. I tired to look at it as you do. I do see some really good, and some decent items in it. It is not a total bust, but I cannot convince myself to vote for this TA. It does not address the wider issues on a longer term scale wrt to RJ's.
As I have said, if it had a road map in it for DCI, I would probably swallow really hard and vote yes, but it does not.
I can live with what I see as short comings with the JV language, and could quite possibly do the same with the RJET coutout, but the item count kept going.
We all have read and been told about future consolidation. I am looking at the effects of this TA down the road, the cost to fix the issues in the next two rounds, and decided its better to do it right now and not two, three, five years down the road, when the consolidation is done and there is no true motivators out there.
I am OK if I am on the wrong side of this vote. Its just one vote. I will be working within the system to find ways to fix its shortcomings though. Its not life or death to me, or my family.
Great post, I agree fully. It would have been a perfect post if you included a pic so everyone knew who you were talking about
She crossed the SAG pocket line when they were on strike in 2000. She lost every hot point she had with me.
Notice she hasn't had a leading role since bedazzled in 2000.
But to be fair I'd give her a solid hate _____ to punish her.

Controversy erupts!
We need to see an Elizabeth Hurley pro/con paper.

But 61% of $10 is $6.10. 61% of $100M is $61M. So it's only a % of the consolidated block hour pie.
Currently we fly 3.6M consolidated block hours and we have a 54% share of it or 1.94M MBH. If we could jump from 54% to 61%, we'd have 2.20M MBH, a win worth about 75ish airplanes or what you get when you add 88 B717s and park 17 DC9s.
Great!
However, there is no requirement to maintain a certain number of block hours like 3.6M. Just a requirement that at a given point (DCI 450/325) we get 61% of whatever flying there is to be had per the 1.56 ratio.

So the problem is that DCI 600 going to DCI 450 would result in a drop from nearly 1.7M DBH to 1.245M DBH.
All that has to be met is that MBH >= 1.56 x 1.245M DBH, or MBH >= 1.94M MBH. Which is where we are today.
So the language makes it possible to shrink DCI without transferring any of the block hours to us and they meet the ratio requirement and ASMs get to keep their current trajectory and drop about 1% YOY.All that has to be met is that MBH >= 1.56 x 1.245M DBH, or MBH >= 1.94M MBH.
