Btw....I was hired in '07...and based on best guesstimate tea leaves and tossing bones in the air I don't think I'll see left seat on anything at LEAST for 5 more years and I'm a glass half full kinda guy.

Thanks BB for the ref and everyone else for their input. Like I said, my first mistake was to answer the phone, never to happen again!

Looks like I'm senior to Lumberg... by about 1400 numbers at least.

Wait. I wasted all my time arguing about the TA with a guy who at best is a super exaggerating about his seniority pilot and at worst someone who might not even work here? He said he was gonna be a 717A by 2014?

What a piece of work.

Good job detective FTB.

So Lumberg stole a more senior pilot's internet credit? Not cool. It's OK to take a little poetic license once in a while, but not to forge it.

Yeah, not quite.....for at least 6 months now most of us have realized his posts seemed a bit less than authentic. Just didn't have the skills FTB or inclination to do what FTB can do. Instead, just internally relegated his posts to the meh file.

Log Item Deferral Summary (LIDS)
A Log Item Deferral Summary (LIDS) summarizes maintenance history and repeats information contained in other sections of the Aircraft or Flight Attendant logbook. If the LIDS or any part of it is missing, dispatch is allowed. Notify Maintenance Control and a new package will be provided at the next xxx maintenance station.
The LIDS package for the Aircraft Maintenance Log is composed of four sections: LIDS Cover page, printed LIDS section, manual LIDS Entry section and a Closed Items History Summary section. The Flight Attendant Maintenance Log contains two sections: printed LIDS section and manual LIDS Entry section. Each section has the date the LIDS package was printed.
The cover section has the date/station, mechanic’s employee number and expiration date for either the Line Check or Service Check. The printed LIDS section contains a summary of all the current open MEL/CDL items. The manual LIDS section is to document additional MEL/CDL items that occur prior to a new LIDS package being printed and installed in the logbook. The Closed Items History Summary section is a summary of MEL/CDL items that have been closed. Each section has the date the LIDS package was printed.
A new LIDS package will be printed and placed in the Aircraft and Flight Attendant Maintenance logbook sleeves at the completion of each new Aircraft Line Check\Svc Check. If the LIDS package is not available at the time of the Aircraft Line Check\Svc Check, the existing LIDS Cover page will be updated manually. Maintenance Control will ensure a new LIDS package is printed and installed at the next xxx maintenance station.

The LIDS was eliminated due to the maintenance of keeping it up to date, the new system mx is going to is the SEPTRE system. MEL and MCO operated the same way.
