Got pulled off my deadhead to my base. Rerouted into a golden day. I am an angry Hoser.

 ... Grrrrr.....teeth grinding.... Is this allowed under the contract?

23.A.15. "Hard non-fly day means a non-fly day on which a pilot may not be inversely assigned to a rotation (e.g., vacation, APD day, reserve PD day, ALPA, legal duty, MLOA, or golden X-day)."

I'm trying to find where they can in the contract. I thought they could only do this if there was no way to get me home. I had a nice cozy aisle seat from dtw - atl just waiting beyond the jetway.

23.L.7. "Crew Scheduling will make every reasonable effort to resolve any conflict between a reroute and a pilot's scheduled vacation or other hard non-fly day, provided the pilot notifies Crew Scheduling of the conflict."

Call them again about this if you haven't already.

Call the chief pilot support center they will fix it. U can't be worked into a golden day without your permission

its not supposed to happen but it does, happened to me and the union said "its not supposed to happen but theres nothing in the contract that says what happens if it does happen..." I wasnt happy and thought they'd at least have to pay you greenslip pay or something because whats the purpose of golden days if they can be violated without recourse....

all you get is your time back that you missed....

this is true, if you call you need to mention one of the contractual reasons why you're unable and they can say nothing about it. as in "no childcare etc"

Just show them your avatar. Looks like your overdue for a breast feeding.

Question for all you who know!

If I bid VD to a new category, and projected training ends up in a month with a commitment (let's say a wedding - not my own), is there a way to request that the training is not scheduled on certain days, or do I get what I get? I know for regular CQ I can bid "golden days". Just wondering if this applies for new category training too. Thanks!

The only way that I'm aware of is to have bid vacation during the time you need off. The AE system allows them incredible flexibility to send you to training whenever they want to. The new contract does allow us to hold on to awarded vacation for AE/VD/MD, whereas the old one only allowed that for an MD.

With that said, you can call the training planners and hope for some luck there as well. They might be able to work with you if you give them enough lead time.

I just got my 5th SC for tomm, my last day on till next Mon. The other 2 on res for the day have long call and 1
an 2 SC's respectfully. They have more days avail, but what gives? How is that fair....both Junior with lower raws!
