Be advised that you can be rerouted into a Golden Day. A lot of times, crew tracking doesn't know that you are going into a golden day so if you do get rerouted, call them and explain the situation. Most times, they can find someone else. But, it is legal.

It has nothing to do with the TA. It has more to do with implementation of LOA 29 and the schedulers learning curves, which they are overcoming. A year ago we were utilizing twice as many reserves as planned. Part of the issue was reserve base utilization and the other part was breaking trips up, when that was not necessarily required. They have worked in these two areas and as a result, reserves are working more in line with where the company wants their utilization.

This is incorrect information. If you want a correct answer on scheduling issues you need to go to the DALPA committee section and post your question. You will get a QA's answer. I see so many wrong things posted contractually on here that I don't even bother to try and correct most of them.
Short answer to the above question is there is only pay protection in the month the trip originates. Anything that spills over into the following month has no protection until after the carry out trips are adjusted in the following months bid package. You could bid a 4 day trip worth 24 hours and end up getting only paid for the first day if the trip is modified and flying dropped in the following month. Even if it flies as a 4 day the value can be reduced and you get no protection on the spill over portion.
Ok.... So what's the point of having a golden day then?
Nothing. Golden days are only good for finishing short call at noon on your last day. However, when you get a call at 0930 to cover a rotation at 1130, you can and will finish much later (or the next day if rerouted).

Surprised that more hasn't been said about the downfall of our late, great friend Bill Lumburg, considering he was one of the TAs biggest cheerleaders on here. Obviously it was a false-flag disinformation campaign...but on behalf of whom? Management? ALPA? RAA? Or was he some regional guy who really really wanted a shot at flying more 90 seaters?
The silence from shiznit in particular is deafening considering how many times he told me to go back to playing in the regional forum sandbox because I'm not a Delta pilot

But you have to tell crew tracking, they don't know about your schedule, they only know about the trip you're on.

I disagree - in 3 years on reserve, I've never been forced to work on an X day or a Golden day. Once, there was a mechanical and I was going to be extended (rerouted I guess) into a golden day. I just called Crew Tracking, told them (as it says in When Scheduling Calls) and within 30 minutes I was going to get home as originally scheduled.
But you have to tell crew tracking, they don't know about your schedule, they only know about the trip you're on.

But this is also the airline industry. If you are scheduled to finish a trip with a "penalty lap" to an outlying station and you break hard up at FNT (or wherever), guess what? You may end up getting stuck overnight and flying into your vacation, etc. But Crew Tracking can not actually reroute you in advance to do that.
