How would they know what they should offer if guys still have the right to leave after they drop it?

As ftb said, that sounds weird.

I fear the AE would then be designed to encourage RMA's, i.e. ugly.

3 aircraft at a time through November in lie flat mods = ~ 40 crews (double crewing) worth of flying. Soon as the mods are done + RMA's and they'll need to backfill and award.

So these 240 RMA guys are pilots that were not required to ever retire, right? I mean tell me these guys were not about to retire anyways, right?
