Me thinks they are moving closer to a decision....

Yeah, thanks for keeping it civil-- I just hate to see strife over something we can't change. Also, that decision was made by a third party, not by any of us.

Denny Crane 07-20-2009 11:36 AM

CVG,

I couldn't agree more, we cannot change anything. It is all behind us now. I don't know that I'd call this strife quite yet. Right now, I see it like a conversation in the cockpit where you may disagree and yet still be friends and operate as a true crew.

Plus I just like playing "devils advocate" every once in a while!!!!:D

As to whether to have Republic do it, or Mesa?

I wish I could be more hopefull on this topic, but if DAL actually commits to a non-trivial number of 100 seaters (not just more 319s, although those would be welcome also), then that would be a very surprising, albiet very good, thing indeed.

As for the pull/n/plug, I'm going to get shot for this for sure, BUT, it would appear my fDAL brethern are right about it. The benefit of the pull/n/plug occured when the list was constructed, not when the guys actually retired. THATS why it was made that way, because the arbitrator couldn't predict when those guys would go, so the benefit was front loaded. Now personally, I would have like to have seen at least 3X the number, since that would probably have been more representitive of the actually number of guys that leave, but hey, it is what it is.

Hey!!!!! I don't want anyone plugg'en my play...........did that come out right?

I agree, this is all a needless. What is interesting to me is we both think we got spanked........and didn't we say last year that would be the defination of a good arbritration?

Just to be clear, I have not to talked to one narrow body fNWA guy who thinks they did well in all of this.

You guys have too much time on your hands.........Bar (you junior boy), get over here and do my new, but temporary, FOM. It's in 3 shrink wrapped sections, all different and clashing colors!:D

Heyas,

Interesting thing....a fully loaded DC-9-30 tops out around 110k. One of these C series critters is north of 30k heavier. DC-9 range is around 1,600 or, while the standard C series is around 2,200, unless you spring for the ER package.

Seems like a LOT of weight to carry the same number of people on what is essentially the same mission. Even the C100, which is closer to the actual DC-9 is 10k heavier.

I can see the dilemma for the airlines. To replace a DC-9, you almost need a DC-9.

Nu

and we passed on the 717..........I've flown with an old exbigwig in the 9 fleet, now that he's on the 757, and they really wanted it back in the day.

Wonder if we can get Boeing to reopen the line, steam gages and all?

Nu,

I hope you don't get torpedoed!!! Thanks for seeing my point. I understand yours in regards to the total number of PnP. I believe that discussion will lead us no where. You are exactly right, it is what it is!!!
