Wow, the green routes that have taken over the western half of our route map are slowly spreading east. I'm counting 7 transcons now between cities like LA and DC. Can we seriously not fill a DL 737 once a day between those cities?

Buy, shrink, stagnate, repeat. Great for DL's bottom line (at least temporarily). Bad for DL's pilots.
So... Is the new airline going to be called American?
And does that mean we get stapled?

In the end American is not going anywhere. Delta will do what they can to raise the cost of AMR getting out of chapter 11 as AMR has done to Delta in many transactions. Delta will not get any real part of AMR. They will emerge from bankruptcy like everyone else. If they merge with USAIR I suspect they will control the transaction not Parker.
Regarding the inevitable takeover: Has anyone done the math on exactly how much of a raise American pilots will be given to be on parity with DAL pilots?
I bet it's a lot. Add that to their pensions, and once again, Delta pilots will take it in the pooper while the newly acquired folks rake in the cash. And these guys are from a bankrupt carrier with ZERO future. I'm surprised DALPA hasn't already started telling us why we should be happy with that.
But hey, at least we got a huge payraise and vastly improved work rules in this contract for playing ball with the company.

I am guessing that if you were an American pilot, your post would look something like this: Damn APA. The DAL pilots are still getting $1 more/hour than we are. Just because our stupid management can't find their way out of Cowboys stadium, doesn't mean that they cannot afford to pay us more than those clowns over in ATL. Besides, their retirement isn't tied to the company anymore, so we need more compensation to account for the potential mismanagement by Horton.

I'm gonna start quoting all those oversized pics on every page until the mods do something about it. C'mon guys.. resize those damned things if you want people to look at them.
Those kind of posts are just plain retarded. No matter what American gets, it won't take one red cent out of my pocket. Not one. As a matter of fact, anybody that knows ANYTHING (which the poster obviously does not) about pattern bargaining, he would realize that it would benefit us rather than harm us.
