Ask yourself this question, if DALPA had held the line on scope would you have gotten the flight time to get hired here in the first place? You were held hostage for eight years, did you feel like you should have only served 3 years, 1 year?
Imo the only people whose jobs were truly 'created' along with the regional industry are all the middle managers and support staff that each individual company is required to have. |

The latest and greatest about 2 anonymous regional pilots thread is getting really stale. Can we please have more:
1. McKayla Memes. 2. Hiring rumors 3. T-Square/Carl rematches 4. Airplane rumors 5. Underboob 6. A/E rumors 7. Really anything http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/...pg?w=500&h=785 http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/...pg?w=920&h=657 http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/...pg?w=500&h=757 |
Bottom line:
1). A DCI pilot's job exists as an exception to the DAL pilots' Scope language. The exception exists because DAL pilots allowed it or traded for it, ergo it's ridiculous to blame the pilot that is performing the excepted flying. 2). A DCI pilot's job exists as an exception to the DAL pilot's Scope language. This doesn't confer upon him any right to request any action by the DAL pilots to increase, decrease, or leave alone the scope of said exception. In other words, when it comes to the negotiation beteen DAL pilots and DAL WRT Scope, the DCI pilot is blameless because he has no responsibility, and without say, because he has no rights. How DAL and a given DCI carrier negotiate over a portion of excepted flying is between those two entities, and whether a pilot group performs the resulting flying, and under what conditions, is between the respective group and their airline. End of story. |

I did, and I always thought it was the biggest sham ever. Big Airline buys lots of shiny new jets to be flown by the lowest outsourced bidder. Mainline pilots stand by and justify their actions that allowed this outsourcing by every means possible. Complete sham. The biggest opponents of RJ outsourcing ARE usually the RJ drivers, especially the "jumbo" RJ drivers. They are the ones with the front row seat and can most easily see that this flying "should" be done by the pilots who's Airline BOUGHT the JET! A little perspective is always helpful.... Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I think this debate is important. I hope that everyone sees the light on RJ's and recognizes the dividing impact that they are having on our Profession. |
