So does that say they are at 410 and the C mean climbing? Where's a controller when you need one?

So, they're going to try and climb over that stuff? That'll be fun.

I was more just poking at them... those are really weak rain bands. Look to the upper right and those are heavy returns. You'd think it wouldn't exactly be a smooth ride, though.

Looks like it's just our boys at WN and a hurricane hunter out playing in Isaac tonight. :)

What happens if you can an engine flying over a hurricane with passengers?

Hard to say if you can an engine in a hurricane, but I can a picture of an F-14!

Standby for Buzz to say it's not a F-14. :D

Elvi, resident B1 guru, how fast would an approach be if your wings were stuck in the swept position?

That's definitely an F-14. Didn't you see Iron Eagle? That movie was filled with them... very historically accurate, too!

I got my commercial at Langley AFB and there was something I noticed there. The locals, Ferds F-15s, were relatively quiet. If there was a noise abatement procedure they must have followed it.

It was the out of towners, B-1 on rare occasion, F-16s, sometimes even F-18s, that just lit it up.

I still think one of my favorite airplane memories was driving my pure awesomeness Ford Ranger over at Navy Norfolk and coming to a stop at a red light that I didn't realize was an active taxiway. So I'm just sitting there and then all of a sudden this E-2... I mean KC-135... comes rolling past me at a high speed while folding it's wings.

To a kid that was easily impressed by just about anything, especially shinny lights and objects and just about any girl within reason, that was really cool.

And I knew it was a KC-135 because it was very different from a C-141. See the difference?

I always wondered why they called it the lizard. It really does look like one there.
