Thanks.
Yeah, they've got a work around, it just takes three pilots instead of two now.

I park on your line, you park on his line, he gives it back to me. Anyone who though the trip parking fix was bulletproof was AFU. It is what it is. Has anyone ever been in an aviation system where the rich didn't get richer?

Exactly. Which is why SWF/SB needs to be abolished, and we need a single source for trading trips, which includes SWP, and doesn't give priority to WS over SWP, all in a transparent, seniority-based manner, all within max pickup limits.

Too many people among us, and the Company of course, will make sure this never, ever, ever happens.

We're in the company of pigs and sheep, and the people looking over the system to protect us are wolves.

I'm not an expert, but I think that won't work - as written in the contract, the trip would have to go through the PCS process before it can be returned to your line.

Also, the programming in PCS to stop trip parking doesn't take into effect until Oct 1st I believe.

It works and its exactly how they're doing it.

I'm on reserve and don't really care but.. the restrictions aren't in effect yet, so any way of moving trips around right now will work.

October 2012 Implementation Items

5. PWA Section 23 F. 7. j), Elimination of “Trip Parking” A Pilot to Pilot Swap Board transaction will not be allowed if it returns a rotation to a pilot’s line after it was removed from such pilot’s line via an earlier swap board transaction unless such rotation was subsequently awarded to a pilot via PCS. In other words, if a pilot gives away a rotation via the Swap Board, he cannot get it back via the Swap Board unless it goes through Open Time (PCS) first.

The new rules don't go into effect until 1 Oct. Why would they bother doing that now?

I'm with Buzz on this, but I've been seeing some pretty squirly white slip awards the past few days. How could any line holder have headroom to pick up a 67hr. trip, unless he's 'parked' a trip off his line to get far enough under the cap to do it, unless he just straight up dropped the trip, in which case it should have gone into open time...but I didn't see anything there except two big trips worth 67 hr. and 58 hrs.

Both were picked up on white slips....how?

So, I think there are still some games going on...
The new rules go into effect on 1 Oct

I never parked, but for whatever reason the parkers are using a circle of three friends now. I'm just reporting, not arguing.

The only thing that prevents it is our contract.

As currently written.

There are lots of things that will prevent what you think will happen. I am not worried about it. Even if they go to the 48 hour layover they run a much greater risk of getting the flight canceled. I have been told one jet laid down in Europe costs the company 250K. They will also have to pay both pilots credit for the extra day. On some trips the credit for the CA and FO would almost match the cost of just putting the extra pilot onboard. They also will require more reserves if they go to all 4 day trips and have fewer pilots available for GS or WS when weather wipes out NY. They would double their hotel costs. On top of all that as you mention are contract does not allow it.
