Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Heard the same thing when everyone else was signing them. I have no facts to back it up with though.
wow... no bidpack out with 6:15 left to go until bid window opens. Never seen the bidpack come out so late. Looks like someone at Mecca actually went on vacation this weekend!

It's the trend line that's disturbing, we continue to allow ourselves to work more and more.
In regards to the upcoming work rules, there is not much the company can't get from us (contractually) for an additional 3% of pay and they know it. I either read or was told that the contract survey indicated that we as a group were willing to work more for more pay, or something to that effect, thus the higher ALV.

This contract however costs us very little in terms of jobs compared to the last few rounds. In fact since the company did not apply any job costing to getting rid of trip parking it might not cost us any jobs.
Jobs were lost due to alv plus 15 and 84 hours.
Jobs were gained stopping trip parking, counting leaves and vacations toward full for reserves, reserves being full at the reserve guarantee instead of ALV. Additional X days per year. Additional vacation and training pay among other things.

The shift of block hours from DCI to the mainline for the 717 will require over 1000 pilots to staff. How many new hires that ends up being will only be known if you can predict the total block hours marketing plans on flying. Since the 717's don't start coming online until after next summer I would not expect a lot of hiring driving by the 717 until next fall. There planned first 717 bid will be in Dec or Jan to get the pipeline going.

I had heard the same figures. I was under the impression there would be some 717s around starting in March 13. That would require hiring for summer 13 cycle.

As a matter of unity, I see all Delta flying as work which should be performed by a pilot on the Delta seniority list. Is it correct that you see "jobs that Delta pilots do not want" and measure gains or losses from a status quo which presupposes around 50% of our work being outsourced?

Their hope is to have a DC9 displacement bid coincide with the 717 bid.
They're pretty smart over there.
