Actually, the decision to reduce our feed fits with the reduced mainline route network. Our code share partners fill the gap on the high end.

I feel sorry for anyone who jumps ship at this point.
Although I am very dis-satisfied with our compensation, this is by far the sharpest mgmt team I have seen in 24yrs. Will they make mistakes? Who doesn't. But, I don't believe there is another team out there that even comes close.
Btw, according to a very high level network guy, narrow body plan nearly complete... next stop, wide body plan.
After the "left seat" symposium, it was very clear our team have back-up plans to the back-up plan. These guys are playing 4 dimensional klingon chess. (I believe the trainer deal will be just one example of what our team is capable.)
While ual has the best network, their merger is not going well and in my opinion will only get worst. Same with sw.
Good luck to the guys/gals that jump ship to the ual team or any other team, including sw (with the exception of fedex... due to their monopoly).

So they are now calling 'economy comfort' a separate class, sounds like a marketing thing.
I've sat in those seats when deadheadding, they are the exact same coach seats that everyone behind you is sitting in, with no additional meal or drink service, same as coach. I guess if you have really long legs, you'd pay extra for that, but otherwise, I see little difference than all the other coach seats.
But then some people stand in a long line for a $5 cup of coffee too.

People have been willing to pay for that product finally. It might have to do with the airline's pushback and marketing take back against the discount ticket clearing houses. Either way, UAL and JB started doing it a couple years ago and it flat out worked. Free extra revenue, the best kind of revenue, and more options for customers.

Also comment that hiring will be driven by DC9s sticking around longer and that we don't need to hire soon due to increased ALVs in the new PWA.
