I can't remember the last time I've seen a non-freighter airline(i.e. fdx/ups) running a 10+% margin. Absolutely love it!

Bastian came up to chat prior to an LGA flight a couple of weeks ago. He was going to NYC for a meeting with the virgin Australia guys, but all he wanted to talk about was trainer. He was very psyched about it...said it was coming together even better than expected. He also hinted at hitting the 10% margin threshold.

Usually the bidpacks can be seen by the 3rd via the backdoor... still locked down though

Nice posts today, mostly, made sitting here working and occasionally checking for bidpack, interspersed with L&G checks, enjoyable.

I can't believe the debate some of you are having about rep elections... at my base, all the old guys are quitting, and there is only one FO guy running and two Capts. I flew with a past ALPA LEC guy recently who told me he lost approx $30k/year when he was doing it vs. what he's able to make flying, so had to quit. I found him completely credible, and in fact more willing than most to listen to and agree with the bottom-third-lister issues. No point here, just an interesting data-point contrary to what I expected.

guys, friendly reminder, minimum age of the girl you're chasing is half your age plus eight.

unless you are timbo, then that's the max age.

I feel for timbo s FOs. it probably takes a team to keep him out of trouble. they probably have to brief their plan, a common strategy, what a red or yellow Timbo emergency is and hell, they probably have their own QRH complete with " when he takes international celebrities to the crew bunk" checklist to when you finally just evacuate.

In most cases you can make far more flying the line then working as for Dalpa. You also enjoy a better quality of life. With a group of individuals going out of their way to make life worse for reps it's amazing anyone runs at all. Some of the best and brightest won't participate anymore which is a detriment to all Delat pilots.
