Already addressed. On reserve, I make it a point to check. ICrew or call the VRU as close as possible to 1501 ATL time. Works good, lasts a long time.

And not counting reserves that account for what percentage of the pilot group? I think I have broken 87 hrs once in the last 12 months, and that was picking up extra flying on a month I had vacation credit. OTOH, how much is 16 days a month (4 days a week) plus all the after hours stuff worth?

Heyas Shiz,
The "87 hour average" is calculated by dropping all lines that are below 70 hours. There were several months where folks were getting sub-70 hour lines (and pay), and none of those lines went into the average. Nu .....Not saying it can't happen, I am saying I HIGHLY doubt that it happened as you describe. If it is like you describe, I will be there with you in working to rectify such fuzzy math... |

So the average should go down now that "trip parking" is banned I guess, those guys didn't do anything to kick up the average I guess... Or guys who have 5 weeks vacation and still manage to work full months' of flying on top of vacation...
Can you reference the part of the policy manual or location of documentation that backs up that claim? .....Not saying it can't happen, I am saying I HIGHLY doubt that it happened as you describe. Just remember that NYC has grown from about 850 pilots pre-merger to nearly 1500 pilots. Ask MEM, CVG, DTW, MSP and ATL if they think that's been "whacked" mercilessly...
I know, I know, you don't get to do NCE anymore, which isn't nice. But your base doesn't look to bad from a different perspective!;) Which doesn't take away from the fact that most of the domiciles took hits also. I know this to be true, because all the poor, the huddled masses, are right here. |

I would like to see your numbers. Per merger we had 800 pilots on just the 7er. Are you saying the M88' 73N and 777 had only 50 pilots total? We were a lot closer to 1500 premerger then 800.

In March 2008 the contractual staffing formula required 856 pilots for NYC. Actual staffing was 943. I was off by 100. Sorry about the error. |

If I really lost you, you are not a 777 Capt, because this is the topic of conversation in every crew brief.
