Already addressed. On reserve, I make it a point to check. ICrew or call the VRU as close as possible to 1501 ATL time. Works good, lasts a long time.

That works fine if your base is on east coast time...... Just make sure you are aware that the schedule check is on or after 1500 base time. That bit me a few years ago......

And not counting reserves that account for what percentage of the pilot group? I think I have broken 87 hrs once in the last 12 months, and that was picking up extra flying on a month I had vacation credit. OTOH, how much is 16 days a month (4 days a week) plus all the after hours stuff worth?

So the average should go down now that "trip parking" is banned I guess, those guys didn't do anything to kick up the average I guess... Or guys who have 5 weeks vacation and still manage to work full months' of flying on top of vacation...

Heyas Shiz,

The "87 hour average" is calculated by dropping all lines that are below 70 hours.

There were several months where folks were getting sub-70 hour lines (and pay), and none of those lines went into the average.

Can you reference the part of the policy manual or location of documentation that backs up that claim?

.....Not saying it can't happen, I am saying I HIGHLY doubt that it happened as you describe. If it is like you describe, I will be there with you in working to rectify such fuzzy math...

Call the MEC Treasurer. Be sure to ask about the data set.

You can find his email/phone number on the DALPA site.

I know, I know, you don't get to do NCE anymore, which isn't nice. But your base doesn't look to bad from a different perspective!;)

I think your numbers are off, but either way they don't account for pilots coming with the airplanes, or the change in the mix of flying. We lost the 777, and gained a similar number of A320 seats. The ER FO dropped about 100 pilots. The 400 came up, but I think that was a net negative for existing pilots, because the pilots either followed, or bumped an ATL ER guys to the NYC ER. In terms of seniority in category, I sure am behind-my pre-merger position, and the flying sucks far more, for a constant relative seniority anyway.

Which doesn't take away from the fact that most of the domiciles took hits also. I know this to be true, because all the poor, the huddled masses, are right here.

I would like to see your numbers. Per merger we had 800 pilots on just the 7er. Are you saying the M88' 73N and 777 had only 50 pilots total? We were a lot closer to 1500 premerger then 800.

Yes, my numbers were off.

In March 2008 the contractual staffing formula required 856 pilots for NYC. Actual staffing was 943.

I was off by 100. Sorry about the error.

Been in lots of briefs lately and have not heard it discussed. First I heard of this was your post. While being possible I think your scenario is highly unlikely, too many variables to make it plausible.

OK.. fine. The ER category in NY has been whacked mercelessly. Happy now?

And I haven't been to NCE in 4 years...
