Back in ole 2010 it was the last 4 of your ssn, 9999 being senior and 0001 being junior. I mised a Diesel 9 by 1 person.

 

From the contract:

24 5. A furloughed pilot may bypass recall for a period not to exceed ten years from his date of
25 furlough.
...
26 6. A recalled pilot who returns to duty and is furloughed again may bypass recall for a
27 period not to exceed ten years from the date of his subsequent furlough.
28 7. A pilot who has bypassed recall will be subject to the following:
29 a. he will be ineligible to receive furlough pay,
30 b. he may only return to duty:
31 1) in conjunction with a subsequent recall or new hire class, and
32 2) if he has notified the Company in writing of his desire to accept recall at least 30
33 days in advance of the class date on which he wishes to return.
34 Note one: The Company is not required to recall pilots in numbers greater than it
35 deems necessary in a new-hire or recall class.
36 Note two: If there are more pilots who have bypassed recall that seek to return to
37 duty than the Company has determined is required, such pilots will be returned to
38 duty, in seniority order and prior to any new hire, in conjunction with Company
39 scheduled new hire or recall classes,
40 and
41 c. his employment will be terminated if he does not return to duty within ten years from
42 his date of furlough.


So... for furlough BYPASS guys (NOT folks who accepted recall then went on long MLOA)... the clock is from 10 years from your date of furlough. The guys first furloughed in the pertinent timeframe were 1 Nov 01, and thus their clock ran out on 1 Nov 11.
I guess the piece of info we need are what were the dates of furloughs after 1 Nov 01? Anyone initially furloughed after 12Oct 2002 is as of today terminated from employment (if they are on furlough bypass). How many folks is that, and how many folks were furloughed after 12 Oct 02 and what dates?

It was extended for them. This next recall round will be their last chance.

 

My class seniorty was based on how many jars of honey you bought from the ground instructors.....

 

I am fully aware of how they came to the realization seniority was inversely assigned and rectified.

Yes. I think with the merger they extended recall rights to 14 years.

 

Go to one of the ALPA R&I seminars...

I did, totally worth it, but without the PPOA, I think the new contractual plan (DPMP), is going to look pretty decent.. Only healthcare plan to actually DECREASE in cost for next year, all others went up.

I haven't made up my mind yet, but the seminar and the expertise there is one of the better uses of dues dollars.
