anybody ever use that Bid Central software? I tried it today and can't even get it to load up trips. It starts giving me "variable does not exist" and "end of file" errors when trying to load a bidpack, now it won't even open lol... Has anyone ever used it successfully, and how long ago?
It seemed to have some commuter aspects that looked nice, if they were automated... but it appeared I had to self-load the available commuter trips, so it's easier to just look them up on e-sky and write them on a calendar. Not sure as I never actually got the software to load. It still had "NWA" all over it so I don't expect it's updated much or rigorously.
Anyone?

rain wet OT game, can't beat that. I went to one ND game and they lost, but it was still neat to see.
as to Auburn, I hate to see a team quit, but they have.
it's one thing to have no qb, it's another thing to have a qb that kills the team.

Thought I would move this here.
Anyone else really bugged by not getting your pay raise on your date of hire, but rather your date of flight. Northwest is the only airline that I have seen do this. This only affects about 300 guys since the rest of the fnwa are on 12th year pay and south guys get paid on there date of hire. My hire date is 9/24/07, but since the first guy in my class finished OE on Nov 15th, we don't get our next years pay raise until three months past our hire date, 12/30 paycheck. That is a lot of money lost over those 12 years. I was mad when this got grandfathered into the contract, but more mad when I was told by ALPA they didn't want to waste capital on this fight for only 300 people. Let's fix this.

Go to one of the ALPA R&I seminars...
I did, totally worth it, but without the PPOA, I think the new contractual plan (DPMP), is going to look pretty decent.. Only healthcare plan to actually DECREASE in cost for next year, all others went up.
I haven't made up my mind yet, but the seminar and the expertise there is one of the better uses of dues dollars.

I vaguely remember having to shoot one for real in the -9 somewhere in Canada (Winnepeg?) because the ILS was down because of snow on the GS antenna. It was interesting to say the least, and the visibility was like 3 or 4 miles.

There were 4-5 of us that followed up for awhile, but the answer was (and I'm sure still is) that every faction of the pilot group has some injustice that they would like to see pursued or "made right."
Another example for our small slice of the seniority list is the fact that 2010 DAL hires were/are getting a higher DC contribution, despite the fact that our little group did not have a DB plan (this was the explanation that was given for why fnwa received a lower DC.)
While I think both of these issues should be taken care of yesterday, I accept that compromises were made during the merger negotiations. We unfortunately did not have much of an advocacy because we were mostly still on probation (couldn't vote for the JCBA) and were such a small group that it probably just fell through the cracks.
I wish you luck in pursuing this, but my recommendation would be to be happy with where we have gone since the merger. I know my pay is significantly higher than I was expecting it to be by year 5/6 at NWA.
Maybe I'm a defeatist, but I just don't see this as a battle worth fighting - especially 4 years after the fact.
