CQ no longer reduces your days off on reserve (it used to). As johnso said it is considered "available."

Your vacation time will reduce your number of days off. There is a table in the front of the bid packet (pbs bid site as well??) to show you the reduced amount.

If it was that easy, wouldn't everyone do it or am I the last one to NOT do it?

I just went and looked it up in the contract, Section 12, it says you can deposit up to +20/month, up to a max of +60, or take out up to 20/mo. if you are that short, up to a max of -30. The key is, you cannot take out a whole bunch at once, it will only let you fill up to 82hrs. for the month.

Example: your Jan. line is worth 75, you have +60 in the bank, you want to pull all 60 of it in Jan, when the new pay rates kick in, it's only going to allow you to pull 7 out, to get you up to 82. So to get all the time you put in, out, you'd have to be running below 82 for quite a while, assuming you filled it up to +60.

I tried to copy/paste the entire Bank section, but it wouldn't do it.

Best to go read it yourself, page 12-16 and 12-17.

Go to the Dalpa web page and click on the Live Contract, go to section 12. Also, about vacation and how many reserve X days you get, there are charts in section 12 that will show you exactly how many days you get.

Are you saying the new contract equals reserves working more than they used to during a CQ month?

I said CQ no longer reduces your days off while on reserve like it used to....

And that change was made prior to this new contract (loa or something).

Vacation reduces your days off, in the same way as it did under the old contract as far as I know.

No, the opposite actually. If you have vacation during a reserve month, you use the charts in the bid packet to find out how many X days you get in addition to your vacation. So for December with no vacation you would have 31 reserve days available. So you would get 14 days off (Reserve guarantee less then 75 hours)But with vacation, you only have 24. 31-7 days of vacation equals 24 days of availability. So depending on your fleet and the reserve guarantee you're looking at 10 or 11 days off.

In previous contracts, your 2 days of CQ would further reduce your days of availability (down to 22) and that would reduce your total days off. So under or new contract that doesn't happen.

Hmmm, seems like a lot of new pro-purple-aide posters popping up, even taking pot shots at our beloved moderators.

I wonder what kind of new TA, LOA, MOU or some other deal is coming down the pike, such that they need to be in place to start the spin.

Discuss...

Senior folks might be able to do it but otherwise it's a bit hard.
So, you can just cash it out?
