Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
What was that plan B?
There is no way that they wouldn't have gotten the 717s. RA confirmed very recently that he does not like the CASM of the A319.. in fact went on a good little ramble on how bad it is and how we're going to put more seats in them to try to make their margins better.
United has newhire classes starting later this month, too...

The existence of a plan B is irrelevant.
The 717s were coming once SWA made the price right. Period.
United is not in our competitive set...Unless they have a worse contract than us.
We need to be careful on the political commentary- everyone has done a good job so far tonight.
I think this is exactly what we're going to see. The problem is that we aren't un-meddling the horrible financial situation of the government.
I'm intrigued to see what the final popular vote will be.
I'm also intrigued as to what this does to DL's plans.

The truck driving comment was very politically charged.
If Bloomberg was elected there would never be a huge pop again.
We are actually quite dainty. We only take up the same airspace as a 50 seat rj.
I flew a polar route not too long ago on which there was not another airplane within about 3-400 miles of us for about 3 hours. Also, our nearest divert field never got much closer than about 550 miles away. Big sky, microscopic dainty widebody.

Whatever economics could have happened had the results been different does not matter if you don't have a job. The guy who would have allowed cabatage and foreign ownership and was very anti-labor was just shown the door.
Ha! It appears we have a mutual friend on facebook. You just outed yourself by posting the same thing on her post!
I disagree with your assessment, but I'm not going to get into it as that violates the terms of service here.

Surveys performed by both fund managers and The Economist seem to agree that US GDP would be 1.5 percent higher due to higher anticipated spending under Obama. There is also the logic that poor people spend money, while wealthier people save money. Income redistribution has a stimulative effect on consumption. Tonight's speech was much more optimistic than the President's 08 election night presentation.
Then again, gold might be a great investment going forward. None the less, we'll have plenty to chuckle about ...

is a higher gdp due to government spending a good thing Bar?
and if your savings are lost due to inflation thanks to QE, how is that good?
I'll put it this way, i had three major expenditures that i was planning on doing late this year and next, I'm shelving them all for now.
