Compensation at whatever the cost!

Speaking of, I'll have to post pics of my F950XCAB+MORECAB+RIMS+TRAIN HORNS sometime.
You guys live in apartments....oh, the humanity.
jk, me too. Living the dream, eh?

Delta should pay us so that we can afford not to.

I suppose my phrasing was a bit misleading...

I bought Castle 80ktsClamp in 2008. And, with refinancing at sub 4% recently on top of buying the house in an awesome economy for buying a house, my mortage is only marginally higher than said apartment.

That is good news on the finances for soon to be baby Clamp.

That being said- it certainly isn't the days of old with the high life of the major airline pilot! My kids will not be able to be anywhere near affording private school on our pay scales...

That being said, the situation isn't so dire. Here's a reality check:

What Percent Are You? - Real Time Economics - WSJ

According to the WSJ calculator, a DC9 FO with 5 years at Delta, flying 75 hours per month, is in the top 19 percent of US household income.

I made more $$ last year then any other time in my life, sad but true. We still are finding places to spend it and practically living pay check to pay check (4 women in my house!!). The only thing we've bought in the past 10 years is a home @ a sub 4% rate and over 20% down.
It doesn't matter how much we make its never going to be enough. That being said a few thousand a year extra might make things easier.

Yeah, my worst realization was when I figured out that my highest coefficient of disposal income was when I was a 1900 Capt at Great Lakes making $28/hr. It was nothing but we were all single and living out of our cars and cheap crash pads

Was flying a BE-1900 somewhere, and my Captain tells me not to forget to wax poetic about the day we're having, because in a few years, these would be "the good old days".

That sure kept me quiet for a few minutes.
