That sure kept me quiet for a few minutes.

Pilots have always been reluctant to "wax poetic" about the career until they are safely retired. The Good Deal Fairy might overhear them and take corrective action.

Tsquare and 80 are officially in the danger zone.
You know that feeling when you have been out in the yard on a reeeeeealy hot summer day.... and then you go in and pop a reeeeeeeally cold beer... that first lingering sip.... and the satisfaction that follows. When I saw the Louisville QB take a knee... THAT was the feeling.....

Charlie Strong shoulda come to Knoxville though.

I think I was richest in college when I made $250 a month flight instructing.

What Percent Are You? - Real Time Economics - WSJ

According to the WSJ calculator, a DC9 FO with 5 years at Delta, flying 75 hours per month, is in the top 19 percent of US household income.
According to a 2011 article:

In the U.S., the top 1% earn more than $380,000 per year.

But in the world, the top 1% just earn more than $34,000 per year.

Top 10% in the world just earn $12,000 per year.

Top 20% earn $5,000 per year.

The top 0.1% earn... $70,000 per year.

So at the worst regional airline here, a new hire FO is in the top 10%. Of course, say at GoJet for an example, you'll never break into the top 1% ($34K) as an FO on reserve.

But put that to the side for a moment, at this point in time our entire pilot group is in the top 0.1% of earners in the world.

SO COME ON GUYS! LET'S MAKE IT RAIN LIKE WE'RE RAY LEWIS AT A CLUB ON A BUCKHEAD FRIDAY NIGHT!

Funny but true. The only people more superstitious than pilots are Red Sox fans. Now Red Sox fans who are also pilots.....they KNOW their actions control the game.
