We have that going for us. The regionals are going to furlough, one in particular.
Wait. I'm confused. Six months ago, we are all living with the impression that the company was going to park a ton of 757's, close the ATL 767 category, and use those surpluses to man the 737-900's and 717's that were coming.
Now, from what I've seen, they are saying that while they are still going to close the ATL 767 category, a lot of the flying will be absorbed by ER flying.
While the crew resources memo said they were fat on ER and 320 F/O's, all indications are that ATL is about to get 100 new 717 captains and DTW is about to get 20 new 737 captains. I think they even mentioned the possibility of adding some 777 captains.
Forgive me for sounding like Bill Lumberg, but doesn't that, at the very least, point to the possibility of at least a
little progression around here?
After a month of changing diapers, I'm looking forward to seeing 80 bid DTW 717 captain on reserve and explain why there is someone junior to him holding it in Atlanta.
