Mmmmmm...widebodies...hiring...make it so!

Maybe the company won't wait until we start canceling flights due to lack of pilots.

I just want to live in domicile in MSP!

"Re-Orientation?"

Is it just me or does that pamphlet have an Orwellian tone to it?

I think returning Pilot Orientation would suffice.

Pilot Survey results, on day 1 of Re-Orientation:

Reserve Sucks.
We want more pay.
We want more Whales.
We want even more pay.
We want more!

Pilot survey at the successful completion of Re-orientation:

Gate latency must be reduced to zero.
Hats rule.
We think some third hand Eastern European, formerly Sub Saharan African Douglas jets makes sound financial sense.
Can we volunteer to give up more profit sharing?

I was talking about the reorientation book. Is it new (for recalled furloughees) or has it been around?

I miss poor Bill. I'd love to get his take on the state of affairs nowadays.

Hopefully it's better. When I came back from 5 1/2 years of furlough in 2008 it was virtually nothing. We sat through the first two days of an indoc class, made sure our paperwork was good, and we were out of there. I was dumber than I was 7 years earlier as a new hire. Plus, a lot of the system stuff had changed and I was going from not flying at all to the -800 glass.

In many ways, the "re-orientation" stuff should be more developed than the new hire stuff. In my case, it was free form. 'Course, this was 5 years ago and pre-merger.

Hopefully this is a new product in anticipation of recalls. Would be a great sign.

Had an LOE on my first flight out of ATL this am. Right eng oil filter light on status page on taxi out which we reset. Then at cruise ATL Center says "DAL xxxx ATL tower says there was a lot of tire debris on the runway after you got airborne". Hmmm, ok, call dispatch, they know nothing about it. So we set up for a straight in 36R in MCO, and ask for the Fire Dept to standby and check the gear as we plan a full stop on the runway. So we stop and the Fire Chief says all a ok. Then I wonder, Hmmm, who was the poor soul who blew a tire that they didn't notify?
