The record, when it was age 60, was 3 years, held by the same guy that now has the 8yr. record, at age 65.

I'm just glad he was a 'good guy' to fly with, and not a Tool.

If I'm gonna be funds, I've got to be something pretty freaking awesome:

That extension couldn't have been granted to a nicer guy.

And from what I hear, the NW #1 (who has been on top there a long time as well) is similarly a class act.

Sue me for being positive. It's a better way to live - imo.

Are there legit gripes? Absolutely. Is DALPA perfect? Not even close. I am however, still very happy to be here. Want to cry about an unfair world? Feel free. I'm not going to join in or commiserate. I will hand you a tissue though.

Flt Ops is still fighting to begin hiring this year. When hiring starts the spigot will stay open for a decade. Very possible 321's w/330's on the way. Economy actually showing signs of life. Company estimating only 25% to 30% stay to 65. Signs of DAL life on West Coast. If only a 1/3d of what RA is planning happens, we are in for a rocket ship ride over the next 15yrs.
So no furlough, and in the left seat of the Airbus? Hell yeah! I'd be stoked too! But then there's the reality that I'll be lucky to be where you are about year 17 here. But sailing tells me it's all good and the guys I'm paying a nice portion of my paycheck have my best interests at heart, and nothing else, so I got that going for me. But yes, I could have spent my time and efforts toward another career, but I chose this one, so apparently I have to nod my head to the mantra that everything ALPA does is what is best; couldn't have been done any better, and ain't it grand that I'm so lucky?

THE OTHERS/APC Crowd: I doubt that. They could make changes and get it back to us for another vote fairly quickly. We have time. Time is on our side.

DARMA: You Idiots/Liars/Punks/New Hires/Carl, no way, RA would lose all credibility in that case and we'd know from now on vote down the first offer knowing the second will be better. No way. They can't afford that, credibility is too important. This is a one shot deal. Take it to bed or lose it forever.

But what about saying we may hire this year if you vote this in? Or taken for face value, you vote this in and we'll hire! What about that credibility next time around?

Oh well.
Come on man. The truth is subject to change depending on the goal. I mean if someone feels what they are doing is best for the shareholders then dont get that all stuck in your craw. If those who manage minds see a path from point A to point B using lawyerly crafted words that imply something that was never really meant to materalize.....who's fault is it when those things don't materilize, those who continue to believe the words or those who spoke them. What if it happens more than once....Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me?

In related news:

“In this very room in 2008, Richard Anderson, Delta’s CEO, said about the future of the Memphis hub, it will be additional. It will be more business for Memphis, not less.

“I expressed concern to him about reduced service or even outright elimination of the hub and asked him about continuation the Memphis-Amsterdam international flight of which we had great pride. At that hearing, Mr. Anderson in this room testified that there would be no hub closures, and he said the merger would maintain international flights to Amsterdam.

“He went further to say we could expect more international flights from Memphis, and suggested that Memphis to Paris would happen. And he said there would be more flights, this will enhance the status of traffic and service at the Memphis International Airport. He said it would add, not take away from Memphis International Airport.

“He said he knew Memphis from when he was at Northwest, and he loved the ribs, he loved the city, he knew how great the airport was, how well managed it was, how the time on the tarmac and taking off was less, that they saved oil and it was the best connections they could possibly have.
“Those facts were true. His response was not.

Anyone out there have copies of the last couple bid postings and the 22.D.3 reports that went with them?

Please PM if you can help. Thanks.
