Can't they figure out which rooms had the missing items and then trace it to the crew member in that room?

You couldn't prove it...but you also couldn't disprove it. Until now, I guess.

Wow, some manager will no longer collect an annual bonus due to all the money this initiative saved. How sad.

Maybe, but is that really "enough to get a conviction?"

What if you stayed in a room that was supposed to have 4 towels but only had 2. You don't care, cause you only used one anyway. You have your rest, fly home, then get a "see me you're fired" letter? That would never fly, nor should it. Not sure what the answer would be, but we'd have to insist due process, fairness and iron clad "innocent until proven guilty" was followed relentlessly.

Maybe they bailed from that program to the VA JV development team anyway. :D

Growth widebodies or replacement widebodies?

Cause there's a pretty big difference.

If they are growth, that's a lot of metal to be dedicated to just SEA flying, and would make us even more desperately hyper dependant on AS feed, cause even more AS growth lowering their unit costs and increasing their ability to offer cheap feed to our enemies and increase AA/EK profits which would then turn around and bite out SEA marketshare anyway directly or indirectly.

They are growth aircraft. The RFP for wide body replacements are going out later. They need the 10-15 aircraft now. Also as we know, the MD-88 fleet is getting new glass and GPS, and is planned to remain in the fleet til 2030.

Speaking of fighter pilots...

An F-15 and and F-16 pilot were engaging in sexual congress. Upon completion, there was an uncomfortable silence.
The viper guy said, "Do you want to cuddle?"
The eagle guy said. "No way dude, that's so gay."
The hog driver who was hiding in the corner playing with himself just laughed.

True story. :D
