Has anyone found any good beer in Narita? I've been down town to the Barge Inn for some of the Brit brew, but sometimes we don't have time to get to town. I've not found anything near the motel. We need to get the Japanese to discover micro-brewing! That Soporo, Kirin, and Asahi crap is just rice flavored water. Do they not know how to grow hopps in Japan?

You must know by now that I don't fall for these kindergarten tactics of changing the subject while pretending to be responsive. Try to focus sailingfun. Where is this "me too" policy written? Where is the record of management applying it consistently? Most importantly: Why do you and DALPA use this entirely discretionary "policy" as a bludgeon against any line pilot who wants our union to demand more than COLA increases?

Carl
Lets try another fact for you. You claim DALPA pay raises are meager. Since the merger annoucement of 15 Apr 2008 or just under 5 years ago what has your compensation done. As of 1 Jan 14 here are a few numbers. You were getting 178 dollars an hour. Less then 6 years working under DALPA your compensation will be a total of just over 309 dollars with international pay and the DC or a increase in excess of 70 percent. NWA may have had international pay not in the 178 number but regardless the increase is huge. Even more notable about Carl's 70 percent plus raise that he claims only keeps up with inflation is that prior to UAL signing their contract the next highest raises at any US Airline were around 7 percent and many airlines had no increases in compensation. Carl's total increase based on 1000 hours in a year will be over 130,000. Carl calls this a epic fail. Pilots at other airlines might have another opinion.
I do want them back. But not into my pocket. I want them to return to the Delta pilot group.
I don't want them sent to the bloated, inept bureaucrats at national whose standard of living has not suffered one iota, even as ours has plummeted. Or sent...
...to an insular, abuse-ridden MEC which doubles as the company's talking-point generator.
...to the FPL-collecting leeches hiding behind an opaque and corrupt expensing system designed to protect those who abuse and plunder it.
...to the regional pilot groups who grew by leaps and bounds at our expense.
...to the FAs who gained access to KCM with the resources of "our" union.
...to the same FAs who, by "our" union's own admission, bleed our negotiating capital before we even sit down at the the table.
Feel free to add to the list.

No one likes how fat bureaucrats and politicians waste our money. I have listened in on many union meetings at several different carriers, even SWAPA pilots say this same thing here. Every union on planet earth has these same problems. Name one in recent history that doesn't. It will always be a work in process and never what all will expect. Changing our unions name and electing new leaders(we elected the ones we have now) will filter down in time to the exact same thing we have now.
and btw what is "low information" is that under the table stuff?
im tempted to download the find beer app. They tell me this is a work phone that is monitored and no downloading apps. what the hell, we need help finding good beer when they stick us in the same city for 6 days straight.
Im sure i can expain myself on that one:-)

DCI jumpseat question for Skywest.
So I was trying to jumpseat on Skywest last night on a Delta Connection flight. This was on a 50 seat RJ that was oversold. I checked in 50 min prior and was told I would be on the jumpseat, but I had to wait for my boarding pass. After last call I still did not have the boarding pass and was talking with an Express Jet guy who was also trying to get on. The gate agent told us to wait and then took his ID and gave him the jumpseat
He smiled and said no hard feelings and got on the jet. So my question is I thought the order was Skywest, DAL, and then OAL. If this is the case, who should I be contacting?
On a good note, SWA came through again for me I just had to wait 3 hrs for the flight.

Ratebeer.com and Beer Advocate are both good sites. Rate beer has an app.
Are the results out yet?
I just gave my dog some of my Ranger IPA in his bowl. He's a big fan and kept on checking his bowl for more after he cleaned it out. Then stumbled around a bit, told me "you're like... my best friend, man... I love you, man!", and now he's passed out.
He won't live long enough for it to harm his liver, but it may affect his family life.
...and Sierra Nevada comes in a can? Never seen that one before.
