Glad it is not as bad as feared.

But, if we have paid our fuel tax and the passengers have paid their taxes, haven't we paid for a service the government should provide?

If controllers can not go on strike, and neither can we, why should the White House be able to call a work stoppage?
That is pure genius. Label it as an illegal work stoppage. Now, who to blame it on? Can this be fit into the RLA? JK

Here's a question for the reserve guru's. Situation: International category, on call for 16 days in a row. Periodically get short call but no trips assigned. Been on call, both short and long, 12 days straight. Now here is the question. Before a trip assignment, do you need 24 hours free from duty? No I haven't been assigned a trip, just wondering...... Thx

Denny,

They are supposed to give you 24 hours off every 7 days. It's possible you were on rest and didn't even know it.

There is a little known codicil in the Delta Charter - Double Secret Rest! It is sooooo restful and rejuvenating - you sometimes forget that you have been awarded rest.

You can check your assigned rest when you check your current schedule. If you click Ok at the bottom of your current schedule it will bring up some options. The second to last link is Display Reserve Rest. It should show you any rest that you were assigned.

The last time I got my 24 hours of rest, I didn't find out I was resting until I was about 10 hours into it.

I've wondered as well, unless folks have sugar mommas. What happens when this summers gets tight and people are no longer able to drop at all and really need to?

What it means is to do a domestic leg you need 24 hrs of rest and they will assign it if they assign you a domestic leg.

NewK, for the mortal pilots here icrew says acknowledge crew rest. For you it should say acknowledge wait.

Because Newk doesn't sleep, he waits.
