This may have already been discussed but did anyone see the resolution passed by the ATL LEC where the reserve system would be moved to a straight seniority system? So basically what they are saying is that a junior pilot should now reach ALV+15 before a more senior pilot could be touched. Total BS. What's the motto? Schedule with safety?????

That's the way it used to be, but without the PBS rules that allow bidding without hard lines of reserve, without ALV +15, without pay of ALV -2 (e.g. 70 hrs, vs 82 hours in Jul), etc. So, maybe they could give all that up and get their old rules back.

The resolution was substituted in drafting committee to have the MEC give direction on Bucket size. Everything else went away. The direction in the resolution was to seek maximum upward movement to the bucket thresholds. IE, raise from 80, etc.
The resolution was "postponed to a date certain" which will be the next MEC meeting this Aug in SEA. At that time there should be sufficient pilot input for a decision.
There will be opportunities to provide input going forward so the mec has recent data on the issue. Want it or don't want it. Happy, not happy, whatever it is, give your input when asked. If you are silent on the issue you may see results you do not like.

- Non Member Admin have much more power than voting members.
- Subversion of our Constitution, ByLaws and Admin Manual takes pilots' Reps out of the loop - my Reps were not involved in pilot labor negotiations with Delta management. Is it legitimate to recall a Rep for something they had nothing to do with and did not even know about? I think not.
- Too difficult and too destructive to recall the President of the organization over line item issues when there is a failure of governance (even I don't advocate a recall, but as long as he remains in power everyone fears even sending a letter which might hurt politically - difficult to get Reps to put the health of the organization over the short term political gamesmanship) Should we recall Reps for that? I think not.
The membership need an enforcement mechanism (short of the Courts) to resolve governance issues. A recall is too severe and too disruptive to the association and it's members. The issue is ripe for a cure. Anyone have suggestions?
Yes, if you desire direct or more direct elections you know the process. It starts with a resolution at the LEC level. Bring one forward if you desire.
