You missed my point. A .01% pay raise would get most people that money back, or vacation that is reasonable, etc. I have never complained about the amount of dues I have to pay, just what I get in return.

I only got $60~ change.... But I didn't pay into the DAL MEC during most of the years that a surplus was generated(and apparently you didn't either).

That guy was a member in an MEC that continually stayed under budget (and had 24J to help take stress off the MEC "checking account").

Now ALL the DL pilots have that same MEC structure with a continued desire to operate well under budget. The payout for 2014 excesses (should your reps vote to authorize a refund) will probably average around $250-350. Additionally dues are going down in 2014, and hopefully will be reduced yet again at the next BOD meeting.

That might be why YOU voted yes, but none of the other yes voters Ive spoken to. Every one felt like they'd been put into a no-win situation by our own MEC. They felt like they had no other choice...which was the exact intent of that MEC administration.

I know that's the talking points spit out by DALPA. Characterize all that disagree with the party line as angry, emotional, ungrateful and in need of doing ALPA work so that they can be properly re-educated. It's boring dude. Same old playbook.

Because if they hear from many of us on many of the issues, they are going to see another side of it. If they get nothing, they assume that everything is A OK.
Another example of the same old tired BS. Reps do NOT matter to this union. They come and go. Our entire MEC and local union structure was ignored by Moak who signed on to change our contract with another MEC. Our reps are mostly good guys who work hard. But our union's structure makes them all but meaningless. It's not their fault. So save the whole "bring them hard evidence", and "if they hear from enough of you", etc. You sound completely out of touch with what's actually happening today.

You and others preach that DALPA and ALPA need to put effort in. Well, given the fact that may of the donut crowd do not contribute or provide feedback anymore, there is no counter balance to things. For there to be the change you desire, it can not be one or two pilots running and in most cases losing every year.
See above.

You'll probably get into a little trouble from your handlers at DALPA. You're not supposed to overtly call us names...you little NO voter you!

Also, don't forget that it was ultimately we pilots that pimped mom out to continue outsourcing by continuing to vote YES.

You're 100% correct. That was indeed our worst case scenario. But that's not what our "tireless" MEC admins were out saying during the road shows. Remember the talk of: "NO votes will likely cause management to disengage with us completely...and we just know that any subsequent offers will be MUCH worse than this one". What about: "This is a time sensitive deal. We can't divulge their plans, but it requires this deal to be done quickly." And so on, and so on.

Our MEC administrators purposely created worst case scenarios that were untrue. That's why the really bad actors are mostly gone now. But that's just putting a band aid on the problem. We line pilots simply have to do a better job of calibrating our Bull Sh!t guages. Regardless of who comprises our MEC administrators.

I saw the printed words on a license plate in DC today - "Taxation Without Representation". And I thought, huh.... ALPA. Hmmmm...
