Haven't ventured to the ESV yet. Just trying to get a working knowledge of these systems so I don't make a bigger fool of myself when discussing the airplane with anyone who can throw the BS flag at me.

For a while the answer to all MD90 questions were "IOE."

If these Alaska rumors are true, you can bet they'll sure as hell argue they should be integrated senior to the Douglas fleet. They'll not be pleased to see that thing coming back. They have added 40 percent to their list since 2009.
Are these rumors getting more serious? I find it hard to believe Richard would tell us pilots any actionable intel. We seem to always "Baghdad Bob" the truth.

That option went bye-bye a while back. My point is, I see that brought up a lot as if it's a positive when in my opinion it's a negative. For me, commuting to reserve isn't as bad as rarely getting a weekend off.
This may be the first post in human history where a guy is complaining about getting a line! Are you saying that is bad?

I can remember back in C2K reading the DALPA message boards. One guy was complaining loudly about how much reserve sucked, etc. Someone else chimed in, "uh, right now reserve is a pretty good gig and actually goes senior in some categories."

His response? "Well, something is wrong with a system where any pilot would voluntarily choose reserve."

UNbelievable.

I actually get GunshipGuy's point - although I doubt it's the view of the majority. The key is finding a balance where we keep the maximum amount of guys happy, which is about all we can do.

I think we're pretty close to that right now, but obviously need to fix some things. A big one for me is SC's up-ending the entire Raw Bucket apple cart. We need SC's to somehow be tied to the Bucket and Days of Availability Grouping to keep one guy from flying into the next bucket and then getting put on SC only to go out again on a trip. The Bucket System doesn't protect guys in that situation.

The Mad Dog don't care. I never figured it out. The CA's are even more clueless.

Where are you getting your numbers? Are you confusing AS with HA? I'm a mid '06 hire and have just over 250 below me out of 1472, putting me around the 85th percentile. When you wrote, "added 40%" were you including recalls? Even if you were, AS has added about 12% to the list since '09. If you're including only new hires, then we've added 6%.

I sure hope this is not true...the SLI will be ugly for the DAL list! I suspect only the WB captains will benefit from this merger...NB pilots will feel significant stagnation. They have lots of young 737 CA over there! Oh well....

Little late for that. Arbitrators have been doing pretty much % for while now.But that said arbitration is arbitration.Back in the day so to speak when it was almost always DOH plus 5 /8 year fences at least you knew what you were signing up for. I can se 6 year 737 Ca being mixed in with somebody's 12 year 737 all in the name of %. As they say careful what you ask for.

I highly doubt 1400 pilots will make that much of an impact to a 11,700ish list, especially with some fences involved. Add in the fact that Delta would be the purchaser.... Look at NWA, most of those guys lost 3+ years.
