Actually, they do have a choice. A couple AEs ago, a DTW777A bid to ATLm88A - he was to be very senior. Initially, I thought he forgot to log off DALnet. The reality is he can now do day turns for fewer days worked and get GS's whenever he wants them.
My point being, seniority gives a person the ability to choose. A real-world example just backs that up.

I have a question regarding this last AE.
In March, a number of FOs were awarded positions below me on the 757. I welcomed that giving me a cushion from the bottom. Now we are displacing 20ish depending on base, but some of those new bodies on the bottom of the list have not converted yet. Will the software know that the person has been awarded 757 FO, hasn't converted, but will still move them off and count that as one of the 20 displacements?

If I pick up a trip at the end of this month that creates a 30 in 7 conflict with a trip at the beginning of next month, will I still get paid for the trip that gets dropped?
Thanks in advance.

No. It will drop the entire trip next month without pay. I learned this lesson the hard way.
I'm all ears. Since T won't expound on LBP beyond saying he has run some numbers and that we don't make airplane purchase decisions, and since I have a bias against it due to several obvious problems which get compunded with any merger, growth, shrinkage scenario...
Convince me that LBP is a good idea.
AE is out via backdoor.
Go to crew resources, pull up the Mar20 bid award. Paste this into the appropriate spot in the URL as a replacement:

enjoy
And yes, I know Sinca won't be able to do this... :0

For those that commute between SFO - LAX you have a few more flights. Unfortunately, they are all on Compass. Good luck, got scope?
DELTA Expands Los Angeles ? San Francisco Bay Area Operation from Sep 2013 | Airline Route ? Worldwide Airline Route Updates
Just so people in Oakland don't feel left out you also get a increase in flights. However, as the red headed step-child your flights will be on CR7 and CR9's
