Viking, is there one category more than another that you'd recommend your miracle product for? Is it for the sweaty airplanes like the DC-9 or APU-less MD-90s more than the others?

And can it stop an itch you can't scratch? If so, wouldn't that be good for the ER categories?

Just a thought.

Always drove me crazy at the regional when the captain would insist on lying about what the issue was. "Don't tell them it was an RA, tell them it was a flight control issue."

"Nah, I'm going to tell them what it was in a professional manner. If you want to make up some dumb story that doesn't make what happened any better, you can."

It's one thing to avoid an airplane, it's another to avoid one dropping meat missiles.

Exactly. As a passenger I prefer the truth. If a "flight control issue"actually was the cause I'd be more uncomfortable then if they had to avoid a aircraft which strayed from it's flight path.

Imagine the bug wash you'd need after hitting one of those!

When I used to CFI out of TLH, there was a short paved airport that also had a grass strip that I would use a lot for short/soft operations. A sky diving operation also functioned out of there. Usually the dive pilots were really good about announcing when they were dropping the meatballs.

This time, they didn't. We were on the downwind, I was heads down for a moment showing a student something... I looked up, and a dude under canopy had floated down right into our path.... "I GOT IT!!" A diving hard turn prevented us from giving him the Sully Canadian Goose treatment.

I had some friends land at a non towered airport in VA when it was 500 OVC. That was back when we were all new to IFR flying and they were excited over their hard IFR approach and landing...

... and then came a couple of skydivers through the overcast.

And i always like the statement "why would I ever jump out of a perfectly good airplane!?" In my life experience, including the first crash aftermath I saw first hand, those were never perfectly good airplanes - so feel free to jump.
