Look at the aft right door in the accident photos... you can see the gray slide inside the cabin! Outies are better than innies...

And that sounds suspiciously like the AT was in HOLD mode at idle and autothrottle wakeup didn't occur due to low altitude...

It does - but for crying out loud (and this isn't directed at you 80, just a convenient post to quote) wasn't one of the 3 pilots in the cockpit monitoring the airspeed?

As as Timbo or someone said, they should of gotten a LOW AIRSPEED eicas message. If that won't get someone's attention - what would!? Apparently being BELOW the seawall on short final did....

And the guy was two handin the yoke most likely. Like my favorite LCA does while complaining about everyone overriding the precious auto throttles too much on the line. TOOL

Sounds a lot like that eastern crash where no one was looking outside, they were looking at a landing gear light

It looks like they weren't looking at anything....particularly their airspeed....

While it seems to be going in the direction of pilot error, it is still very early on in the investigation. I know after the BA crash people were saying the same thing days after the investigation.

That being said, there a plenty of links in the chain leading to the accident. Fortunately most were saved, who otherwise would have perished as a direct result of the cabin crew, fire fighters, rescuers, and, last but not least, a durable Boeing product.

Well, put it this way, 3 of 4 90s I flew in the last week had the APU on MEL. I attract those kind of airplanes evidently.

Criminal I tell ya!!!!

Why can't they get APUs to work like normal jet engines. The main motors don't have that start reliability:( they are only cranked twice as much but fail ten + times more.
