Instead of eating my Biscoff, I took it home.

I plan to turn myself in tomorrow.

I really hope you've never taken a water bottle off the plane to your room out of the country, too. A superior sense of morality rules over diarrhea.

There isn't any FAA requirement to have the emergency exit window shades up for take off, is there? I'm not making a case for or against the policy; just trying to determine if it's up to individual airlines or not.

Look, drinking any drink or eating any snack (twix, snickers, etc) that is not provided with a PWA required crew meal is stealing. I don't care if you take it with you to the overnight or drink or eat it while flying. You are stealing. Buy your own damn drinks and snacks.

I know AirTran said it was a requirement or at least at one time the (or maybe some rogue) FAs made a PA saying it was. I don't think we do and if we do - it's not enforced.

It is required unless something has changed. Common sense to be able to see what is outside the exit. Do you want pax evacuating into fuel and fire?

Oh trust me I agree. I believe they should all be open for takeoff and landing every single time. But FL made or makes a PA saying all window shades must be up for takeoff and landing, I just don't think our FAs do that unless I'm totally zoning out when riding in the back (very very possible, or I'm playing with my ipho... sleeping :D)

Let me look in their book...... ... ....... okay, according to the On Board Manual 7.2.57 it just says passengers may keep window shades closed for takeoff and landing. They should be open if there is an emergency. And in warm weather encourage passengers to close shades and open air vents when at the gate.

So I guess we don't require it normally. Good to know. I've wondered about that too before.

My commute is served by almost every domestic carrier, and the only time I've *ever* heard an announcement about window shades during takeoff and landing was while onboard Spirit.
