Oh No, Aeroflot is upset.... So be IT!

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian state-controlled airline Aeroflot (AFLT.ME) is considering leaving the SkyTeam alliance because of unfavorable agreements with other members, in particular U.S. Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N), Kommersant reported on Friday.
The newspaper cited sources close to Aeroflot's board of directors as saying the company was not happy with the development of its routes in the United States, where its partner Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N) offers high fares.
Aeroflot declined to comment on the report.
Dropping out of the alliance could cost Aeroflot $20 million and the airline may consider joining Star Alliance, the biggest airline marketing group, with 27 members.
As a member of SkyTeam, which brings together 19 global airlines, Aeroflot cannot undercut prices offered by other members and could be more competitive in the Star Alliance, group, Kommersant said.
The agreement to join SkyTeam in 2004 was signed in the Kremlin, a political stamp of approval largely due to close ties with Air France (AIRF.PA), the leading member.

So they are upset that once their passengers get to the US our pricing is to high? We require higher ticket prices? Not real sure what they expect would change if they shackle (no pun intended) up with star. I imagine we connect far more passengers to Aeroflot heading to Moscow then they bring Russians to Delta anyway. Be gone Aeroflot hopefully you can continue to fill those Yak's on inter Russian routes.

Never liked those communists anyway!

Oh trust me I agree. I believe they should all be open for takeoff and landing every single time. But FL made or makes a PA saying all window shades must be up for takeoff and landing, I just don't think our FAs do that unless I'm totally zoning out when riding in the back (very very possible, or I'm playing with my ipho... sleeping :D)

Let me look in their book...... ... ....... okay, according to the On Board Manual 7.2.57 it just says passengers may keep window shades closed for takeoff and landing. They should be open if there is an emergency. And in warm weather encourage passengers to close shades and open air vents when at the gate.

So I guess we don't require it normally. Good to know. I've wondered about that too before.

Was asking because a friend if mine who's a HVC was curious. Turns out he was on a Delta connection flight and seated next to an emergency exit. The FA directed him to keep the shade down due to the hot weather. In takeoff he lifted the shade which brought a sharp rebuke from the FA' "I told you to keep that down!" He didn't appreciate the treatment, and this guy has always been very understanding.

Whatever's outside, 10 bucks says most of them will be scrambling to get their rollaboard in the overhead 10 rows in front of their seat before trying to evacuate the burning plane.

The scope work around is ramping up. Does anybody know if DALPA has commented at all regarding this activity (ie Skywest flying more and more RJ's under the Alaska Airlines brand, our code share partner and the huge large RJ orders in the pipeline)?

Multiple new routes announced

Colorado Springs, Colo. and Omaha, Neb. among the new cities served

Ask the Horizon guys and gals how they feel about this...These are their old CR7's that are coming back from a sub-lease to South African and are being sub-leased right back out to SkyWest. With these planes coming back into the AAG fold, 8 CR7's will be flying as SkyWest operating for AS.

For those with underwater mortgages this is not true, unless you believe bankruptcy is a viable option to move in domicile. Do you have kids in school PG? Would you actually yank them out three times in a year to move to three different domiciles if you were junior? Reasonable people would not for the sake of their children.

Fortunately the housing market has turned around nationwide, making home selling more viable today then it was in the past five years in this economy.

Please tell me that you no longer have any position in our union? Also that you are close to retirement.

My guess is that there is an exchange rate issue here. Of course that wouldn't change with an alliance change.
