9 744's.

Delta has probably already signed the note for them.

But just in time for C2015, the Delta/ALPA coalition will tell us we absolutely MUST give up 100 seat scope to get them.

Now that Obesity has been declared a disease by the AMA, can airlines be sued for discrimination when asking an obese person to buy two tickets or remove them from an airplane when they don't fit in the seat purchased or will they still have the "safety of flight" card?

I wish ALPA would have brought us a 20 year contract last year. Initially, 3 years sounded good because of "we'll get em' next time". But the reality is every time they go into a room with management, our contract gets worse and we work a little harder. Year over year it doesn't seem bad but look back a few years and all we can do is see "how it used to be". At this point I'm tired of watching them make things worse. Give us a 20 year contract and go the F--- away. Quit giving up work rules, RJs and profit sharing when the company is making more money than it has pockets to put it in. Sign us a 20 year deal and go away. No more LOAs, side letters, nothing. It just gets worse. Stop it! Sign us a 20 year deal and go away.

Sorry for the delay: JAL, from what I have been told, has 9 or so -400 that are being returned to BOEING in exchange for the 787.

9 extra -400 to Delta would be a nice little start.

As of 12/31/12 JAL was operating zero 747-400s. The last JAL 747 flight was in March 2011. Last ones left the fleet in small numbers to various other airlines in 2012.

Couldn't agree more. Guy I was flying with and I were talking about this. If all we're going to get is COLA raises along with scope relaxations, why not just sign a multidecade PWA that gives us a raise tied to inflation every year. This would stop opening the door to synergies, cooperative efforts, and all of the other negative things that have migrated in.

Carl maybe your guy was right after all?

My guy wouldn't tell me who they were from. He knew who, he just couldn't tell me.

I saw the check we wrote for them, too! I snuck a quick picture of it:

In that case, Boeing has some 747-400s (from JAL on exchange for 787s) that are up for grabs for a real nice price.:D You get my drift?

For those with a superior sense of morality that believe that commuting is a choice and taking the soap from the hotel is stealing... I figure we needed to further that discussion tonight. Every time you go to the bathroom in flight, that costs DL money in lav juice, power spent on powering the toilet, and of course you'll be needing to steal company soap to wash your hands after.

I highly suggest utilizing the NASA solution so you can feel even better about yourself:
